Megan went to talk to the doctor. The doctor said Mr. Dean was in danger. His situation had always been complicated. Keeping him alive until now had already been a miracle.
John looked anxious as he paced up and down outside of the emergency room.
Right now, Megan was extremely hesitant. She was worried the ways her grandpa left would do this old man harm. If she did that, it would be immoral for a doctor.
But Mr. Dean was dying. Things like that suddenly didn’t seem to matter anymore.
Zack was on the bench, hands covering his face, fingers digging into his hair. Megan felt bad for him.
Zack had saved her. She couldn’t bear to see him this devastated. If his father could wake up now and say a couple of words with him, Zack would feel less regretful when he thought about this day
