Ivan and Stacy took Sherlyn away when Zack came out uneasily after them and said to Ivan.
"Sherlyn had a rough time. Please be kind to her."
"Do you think..." Ivan looked back at Zack and said, "… that I would ever abuse a child?"
"You wouldn't, but..." Zack didn’t finish the sentence, but his meaning was clear enough.
He didn't think Stacy would be nice to Sherlyn.
Ivan looked at the nanny who was carrying Sherlyn to the car and whispered, "Don't worry. Now that I adopted her, I'll be responsible for her."
"And... about Megan," Zack added, "Can you take Sherlyn to see her occasionally? She loves Sherlyn very much."
"It seems you don’t hate Megan at all." Ivan said.
Zack said nothing and watched their car drive away.
