Stacy was disgusted, but she had to pretend to be concerned as she walked up and gently patted Sherlyn, who was crying in Ivan’s arms, and softly comforted her.
"Don't cry, Ruthie. Tell mommy what happened?"
"Mommy, I had a nightmare. I dreamed of so many demons."
"What kind of demons?" Stacy asked gently.
"It was a beautiful snake. She was pretty and she had big eyes, but she would show her pointy teeth and eat me up."
"That won't happen." Ivan patted Sherlyn's back and said, "There is no beautiful snake in the world. It's just your dream."
"I'm so scared." Sherlyn wrapped both arms tightly around Ivan and buried her face in Ivan's arms.
Ivan gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.
Although Sherlyn was only a child, Stacy was still jealous.
