Ivan hesitated. Stacy went furious, but she couldn’t let him see her anger. She had seen when Ivan told Megan that he loved her. How could he suddenly be hesitant right now? He should have treated them as the same person!
Ivan was also confused about his hesitation. Maybe it was because Stacy suddenly started to talk and he couldn't get used to it… Ivan stared down at the woman before him, noticing the necklace around her neck. This was no doubt his Stacy. He had given that necklace when they were both children. Ivan reached out a hand to touch the necklace. Stacy, however, grabbed his hand and pressed it against her face. This was surely the woman he loved… What was he even thinking about?
Ivan thus spoke to her with a gentle voice, "Just go back to sleep. I'll be here…"
