When Heart Find Home

Episode 9: When Hearts Find Home The weeks that followed were some of the happiest Maya had ever had. The project with Ethan turned out way better than she imagined. Their styles worked well together — her adventurous eye and his calm, steady approach — and it was like the cameras spoke before they did. Everyone in the group could tell something was happening between them. The long walks across campus, the laughter while editing photos, the quiet moments on rooftops — it was clear. One evening, after finishing their final project edits, they ended up on the rooftop where they first met. The city lights twinkled below, and the air smelled of the sea. Maya was scrolling through her camera shots when Ethan said quietly, “I’m glad we got paired together.” Maya raised her eyebrows. “You sound surprised.” “I am,” he admitted. “I don’t usually… open up. Mornings were for sunrise shots at the beach, afternoons were for lectures and editing, and evenings were for coffee and laughter. Maya felt lighter around him, and Ethan seemed happier than she’d ever seen. Because it was Ethan’s final year, the seniors had been paired with juniors for mentoring. That’s why he ended up with Maya — a pairing neither of them expected to affect their lives so much. Sometimes Ethan teased her: “You’re supposed to be learning from me, not teaching me how to break the rules.” Maya laughed, shaking her head. “Maybe you need a bit of adventure in your life, hey.” Together, they balanced each other perfectly — her brightness, his calm. Everything seemed to be falling into place. Their project got picked for the campus exhibition, their lecturers praised their teamwork, and even Maya’s family could hear the excitement in her voice every time she called home. For the first time, it felt like life was finally on her side — her dreams, her studies, and even her heart. But Maya knew deep down that every story, no matter how beautiful, eventually faces a challenge…
