CHAPTER THREE

The morning sunlight seems quite different for Anna Johnson as she struggles and grumbles over waking up to get the children ready for school. Lost in thought as Anna keeps remembering how Samuel was very helpful and supportive in taking the children to school as he never complains about it. The sound of a familiar voice snapped her out of herself in thought,

"Mummy, mummy";

Gift called,.

"Yes my child,"

She answered.

We have been waiting at the dining table for so long and you are yet to give us our breakfast,we are also getting late for school.

Sorry my children, Mummy was so busy she lied just to give excuses for her children not to notice that she was lost in thought about how she is going to cope alone in taking care of the house.

Gabriel and Gift she called,be fast in eating so that you won't miss your school bus.

Samuel was very too busy to reach out to his phone as Anna continuously kept calling him to hear from him like he promised last night.

Anna was scared as she kept calling but no one answered the calls,she started thinking what must have happened to him or is the project work not going well as planned, because my own Samuel always takes my calls.

She was not with herself anymore and Esther her colleague at the same department noticed as she looked so worried.

Esther walked up to Anna and asked,

What's the problem,why are you not with yourself today,

I have been calling my husband but he is not taking my calls I don't know if something bad has happened to him or he is in danger, remember I told you I wasn't comfortable with him leaving in short notice that we were not able to go with him because since I got Married to him we have always been on the road and no time to even plan a well arranged marriage anniversary talk more about the children's birthday,

And it is affecting the children's education so I have to give in and stay back here with the children because he said immediately the project work is done and he supervises that it's working he will come back, but it is not easy the way I was thinking it was going to be.

Esther started giving her words of encouragement as she said, maybe he is busy stop giving in to negative thoughts and smiles because these faces are frowning like these are chasing away our customers,so you better smile my dear and they both laughed together.

Esther was so close to Anna that they both discussed a lot of things at work and even visited each other at home,they made people who don't know them much think they are sisters. Esther is a widow who lost her husband in a car accident that made her cursed everyday as She breathes for allowing death to take her Loving husband that never likes to see her in pain,he always buys her gift everyday as if they are newly wedded and loves her so much despite

she was unable to give him a child after many years in marriage.

She always brings the idea of them adopting a child when he was still alive but he always Kicks against it and said to her God will give them their own child.

Esther thinks he has family outside that is why he is not bothered about having a child with her, but she laters finds out that her husband was faithful to her and loves her so much not until

death was so quick to take him away.

After his death, Esther could not believe that he willed all his property to her,she decided to work and keep visiting orphanages home to assist in memory of her late husband but she vowed not to marry again.

Anna's phone rang and she hurriedly went to check who was calling.

Anna took the phone as she saw Samuel calling for the third time,

Hello my love Samuel said,I am so sorry I wasn't able to call you in the morning as promised I woke up too early to call you at the time,

But you could have texted me,I was so worried,

I know I'm sorry it won't happen again,how are my children, hope they are fine,

I'm missing them already despite it not up to the day i left the house, I'm so attached to you and my children, you are my life and everything.

Anna laughed,how is the project going I'm hearing a lot of noise are you in the club she jokingly asked and he replied with yes as they both laughed over the phone.

The project is going well as planned but is very demanding too, Francis the guy assigned to me as my personal assistant is very helpful and the workers are very hard working, Everybody is giving in their best to make it a successful one. I had a meeting with them this morning and introduced myself everyone is accommodating

and I love their response towards the work.

My love Anna said, you are beginning to like the town but please do fast and come back to us, your family needs you,sure I will, I'm just telling you how far I have gone with my workers.

My love i have to go ,we will talk later my workers need my attention and tell the kids I love them

and take good care of yourself.

Anna felt at peace after talking to Samuel, but she wonders how worried she was over little things that never matter as she ponders in her thoughts hoping to face her reality.
