“What’s the deal with the spear?” Jacques asked Renault as they were going through the other ship. With the battle over and the remaining pirates under the guard of Jacques’ men, the two ranking officers were taking stock of the ship. They couldn’t take much as Jacques had a timetable for delivery and he couldn’t be late, or at least, he wouldn’t let himself be late. “It’s a long story,” Renault said. “What are we looking for?” “We’re gathering weapons, coins and anything of great value, the rest of the stuff we can leave, I don’t have time to take everything.” “Does this happen often?” Renault asked, grabbing the other end of a box of muskets he and Jacques had spotted. “Not usually, but these are becoming dangerous times,” Jacques said.
