Renault hated horses. The stunk and always seemed to hate him back. Of course he knew how to ride them, his family did have some in the countryside. They weren’t wealthy by any stretch of the word, but the Lefevre’s were better off than most. His father, Raymonde, was a well respected jeweler just outside of Paris. It allowed for a more educated upbringing for Renault, which in turn helped him achieve the rank of lieutenant so quickly.
