“Just a question for you, David,” I broke the intentional silence I had decided to create since I didn’t want to talk to him. “Go ahead.” He put his arms behind his back which made his chest look wider. “Did you buy anything during this exhibition? Last time you said you had quite a collection.” I looked forward, pursing my lips. David chuckled. He was amused that I would even be interested in his collection after so visibly ignoring him. My real intention wasn’t to know if he bought any of my paintings. Instead, I wanted to know he didn’t buy any of them. Just the feeling of him having more of my paintings in his possession sent quite a few shivers down my spine. “I don’t think I need to answer that.” His grin grew bigger. He was right. There was no reason for him to give me an answer.
