40 - Exhibition

Benjamin I placed the phone screen side down on the desk in front of me. The night city lights streaming through the full-wall windows behind me were making the city feel like it was full of stars. I still had a lot of work to finish up before my classes would start. The pile of papers with different kinds of proposals and daunting numbers were scattered in front of me. Work was the only thing keeping me sane along with the evening phone conversations with Sophie. I didn’t see any of my friends over the past week. I just immersed myself into work. To keep myself from running to Sophie at the first presented possibility, I had to keep my brain occupied in any way I could. Otherwise I would run to hold her in my arms even at the ungodly hour of four in the morning. A sigh escaped my lips.
