Leonard’s feeble smile made me feel reassured that he wasn’t going to start crying again. Nor even get anywhere close to that state of his emotions. The crisis was gone. At least for now. “I’m really happy both of you decided to have dinner like this.” Leonard looked happier than usual. He was even wearing a smile on his face, which was very unusual. He usually had a poker face or even annoyed one. The table was set as if they were expecting royalty. As if he had known we were going to join him for dinner from the very beginning.
