I woke up to Ruby kissing my neck, I smiled, and she mind-linked me, "I miss you," I kissed her lips and replied, "I miss you too." I wasn't sure how to handle the situation with Ruby and Mia, Ruby and I had a family, and we had been together for a long time, but I longed for my mate and wanted nothing but to have Mia by my side, loving her the way she was supposed to be loved. I hesitated, and he got up angry, I said, "Jae, there is more to it," he said, "So, you are choosing the criminal over us?"
I got up to walk over to him, but he walked off slamming the door, I said, "f**k," resting my face in my hands, stressed about the situation I had caused. I heard a knock, and it was Pax, he walked in and said, "Let's get this over with," I sat back on my desk and Pax asked, "Do you want to talk about it?" I said, "I f****d up Pax, why didn't you warn me back then?" I smiled, and he said, "Let me guess, you need to choose between the family and mate you have loved your whole life, or the fated mate meant for you and love, I tried to warn you it would be like this, but you didn't listen." He was right, I listened to Ruby's mother after I had made a promise to her family and dragged Ruby in the middle, I should have let her go so she could have found her mate or loved someone else, now my kids will get hurt, no matter what decision I make.

Dom changed the subject, and I picked up on it and followed him out of the room, we headed down to where the mating would take place, we stood outside the door and I stopped him. I was nervous and said, "Dom, please don't make me give up my destined mate," he sighed and said, "At least meet her, no one wants their daughter to mate with a former disgraceful criminal, she has agreed to do it because her parents are poor, and the marriage would be good for you both." I sighed and said, "Okay," I didn't realize I was this hated, and I was giving up, Mia, so I could show Dom I cared about rekindling our friendship. So we went inside, and right off the bat, I knew she was my fated mate, she looked at me shocked before she smiled. I could see she was shy by the way she turned her head and looked at her parents, her father walked over to me and was happy I agreed to mate his daughter.
I met her mother before I walked over to her and touched her face, moving her hair away, I felt light sparks, as my dragon was ready to have our mate and heal from losing Mia. I turned to the head elder performing the ceremony, Dom looked on to make sure I went ahead with the plan, we said our vows and did the ritual. I turn to Dom as we hold hands and I bow while she curtsies to the King, we sign documents being recognized as mates and I have seven days to soul bond with her. I wasn't going to rush anything, I preferred to get to know her before I gave her my mark. We headed to my cottage and I showed her around, I told her about my sons and she smiled. I showed her our bedroom and told her, "I will sleep outside until you are ready for us to share a bed," she nodded, and I turned to leave, she asked, "Where are you going?" I said, "I have an errand to run, I will be back for dinner, my son will be here in a few hours, don't scare him," I took to the skies heading to the Ice Fortress.

I was babysitting Seria, and she was helping me in the garden, she loved it over there and always asked her mother to spend time with me. Her brothers Alen and Almar had escorted her over here, and they were also around the Palace grounds running around, Jae doesn't like me much, but that was expected. I saw Peitro land in the court and a servant ran out to give him pants, I looked at Seria and said, "Go inside and clean up to take your nap," she said, "Okay mummy," before running off. I tried to explain I am not her mother, but she loves the idea of having two moms, she loves Aries like no other. I headed out to meet Pax where we would be having lunch, he smiled when he saw me embracing me for a hug. He stared at me and I touched his face, he said, "I found my mate, Mia," I was shocked but happy for him, he held my hands as his eyes clouded with water.
He said, "I will always have a special place in my heart for you, you gave me, Draven, and you missed out on twenty years of your life for me." I wiped his tears as he knelt in front of me and said, "I will always be grateful, and I owe you everything, I give my service in your life and death, and I will protect you, my Queen." I felt his bond as my protector and I accepted it, I made him rise, and we sat for lunch as he told me about this mate. Dom showed up as we were making jokes, he leaned in, kissed my lips, and asked, "Where are the kids?" I told him where they were, and he looked at Pax and asked, "Where is your mark?" He said, "I will be marked in due time, Dom," he smiled and held my hand, he kissed the back of it and I linked him, "Pax is no treat, he became my protector," Dom looked shocked and looked at Pax saying, "Thank you."

I was giving Callie a nice little picnic between us, her father was at the library reading up on our customs, and I signed to her that we may not have kids together because she is human. She kissed me and sat in my lap, she looked me in the face so that I could read her lips and said, "We can adopt if there's a thing here," I kissed her lips, and I signed, "I need to mark you," pointing at her neck where it would be, she signed, "Will it hurt?" I kissed her ear, then signed, "It will for a few seconds from what I was told, you won't be able to mark me, but I would wear my ring to show I am yours completely." She smiled and rested her head on my shoulder as I stroked her back, I care for Callie, I never expected to be married to her and I promise to mark her soon. She eventually kissed my lips as I rubbed my hands on both of her legs, she bit her lip and unbuttoned her shirt.
