Chapter 25: Love Confessions

After the civil war, everything settled down, and Aidan was crowned the Supreme Alpha over Ravena with his Beta, Gamma, and Delta. Ravena was shaping up as the Supremes were not taking any more illegal activities, no more slavery, and no abuse or disrespect from anyone, and all unique species had to go on a registry and be respected. I became part of Aidan's council in the high court and a few elders were promoted, including Amon and Kyle, he was loyal from the beginning. I could see the love in his eyes, he was smitten, I told him, "You should tell her how you really feel and maybe, she feels the same way, but do it now before this new man in her life takes her from under you."

Jae smiled thinking about what I said, I patted his shoulder before I left him to his thoughts, I felt good that he confided in me, and Ruby mind-linked me, "How did it go?" I smiled and said, "We didn't fight, my love," it was a breakthrough for both of us and I went to the office as I had a busy day. Desi handled things when I was not in the Palace and Pax was still high on keeping Mia's safety up to par. My assistant reminded me about my meetings today and one of them was with Alpha Spence about our trade deals, Spence was still trying to get over Queen Sophia, they had a traumatic bond, but it worked out in the end. I remember Barron's wedding like it was yesterday, and that was surprising because of the amount of alcohol I drank back then. Mia wasn't impressed, but she made sure I made it back to our hotel that night, everyone was still celebrating the death of Roman.

Six Months Ago

Aidan had been by our table drinking after his brief talk with Sophie, Mia was with the women and I trusted her judgment because someone needed to be an adult today. Everyone at the table knew about what Alpha Spence and Sophia had been through, and we felt for the guy, Aidan had a soft spot for him and rarely did that, so we all knew we could trust Spence. I saw Spence by the bar getting a bottle of scotch and thought he had stopped drinking, I saw Sophie walk over to him asking, "Can we talk?" He looked at her, put the bottle to his mouth, and drank the whole thing, I got up to help, but Ty grabbed my hand and nodded for me to stay put because Aidan would deal with it. Spence looked angry and hurt at the same time, and I wondered why Sophia would invite the guy, knowing how he felt.

Spence looked at Sophia and asked, "What about?" Slurring his words, she said, "Not important," before walking away, I knew this was going to get ugly. Spence was angry, everyone focused on the situation when he yelled, "You stopped me, now you are not talking, what is it?" He threw the bottle across the room, shattering it, which stopped the DJ from playing. The guest gasped, and he stumbled out of the room, he snatched another champagne bottle from a passing waiter and walked out the door, Toffe signaled to Aidan, and he left behind him. The music started playing again, Aidan looked worried for a bit, but I wasn't going to question it when Drax broke the tension at the table, talking about Ryker being an ass before they arrived. After that encounter, I woke up the next day in the hotel naked and my wife was by the pool enjoying herself.

Spence knocked, and he walked in, he looked better, and I was happy for him, Sophia was pregnant when she chose Barron, so they had a young son.
