Suzan’s POV
It’s about midnight and they wanted to close so we decided to leave.
While we were leaving the Aroma’s, Sam comes next to me and whispers in my ear.
“Dude, when is Jeremy going to ask you out. He is so desperate for you, all evening he was looking at you as you are a snack for him!”
She says while we both take a look at Jeremy who is walking with Jake towards his car.
“Sam! Whatever he is looking great but I’m good being best friends with him” I tell her as I take a look at his.
As she sighs Jeremy is walking back towards us.
“Okay, Miss Best Friend here comes your best friend!”
“Thanks! Bye” I say to her as I roll my eyes.
“You are not going with Suzan?” Jeremy asks Sam with confusion.
“Nope, Andrew is dropping me off tonight” She says as she blushes with the reply.
“Hey, then Do you mind giving me a ride home?” Jer asks me
“Of course dear” I reply with a smile.
“Yeah, I will bring my bag from Jake’s car” Jeremy tells me.
“Okay, I will just warm up the car.” I reply to Jake while showing him the keys.
He leaves me there and I go towards Elena and Rick’s car while they were leaving
*Rick pulls the window down*
“Good night dear take care! See you tomorrow for the best trip in our lives!” Rick speaks to me
“Good night Suzy and all the best for tomorrow!”
“Thank you, goodnight”
I wave them as they leave.
While I walk towards my car I see Jeremy and Jake talking.
I take a deep breath, what will happen tomorrow?
Jeremy’s POV
“Dude you like her and have been her best friend for so many years give it a shot Jer, maybe she will say the same thing back to you at least you can try!” Jake suggests me.
“Okay!” I reply with confusion about what I will tell her.
Suddenly Jake speaks on top of his voice, “Okay, Jer here’s your bag see you tomorrow bye” He hands me the bag
I’m totally confused by him as I take my bag.
He whispers silently, “She is watching us!”
“Okay Bye” I reply to him and he leaves
I walk towards her car when I reach there she just took a deep breath with even her eyes closed.
“Hey!” I speak
She asks me, “Hey could you drive; I have a lot on my mind now!”
“Yeah, of course.”
“Sure”, Suzan replies and hands me her car keys.
“Hey!” I wave my hand in front of her trying to bring her attention towards me
“My god what did you ask, I’m so much lost sorry Jer. I’m just worried about tomorrow that’s all”
“It’s alright”, I reply with a smile.
I put my bag in the back seat.
We both get in the car and she asks me, “What time are we tomorrow meeting again?”
“At 8 PM!”
“It’s freezing in here” Suzan says
I remove my jacket and hand it to Suzan
“Thank you! Nothing around me is working out today it is so cold in the area and here I’m wearing shorts and a tank top. What a bad combo!” She is angry and upset a lot
I fire the car and start driving towards her house.
“So, what are your thoughts about tomorrow?” I ask her
“I don’t know Jer I really want to meet my uncle but I haven’t met him since 4th grade and you know I was a mess when he left for India. He used to spend so much time with me.”
She takes a huge breath and continues
“But he is coming here to fix me like I’m broken just because of my grandmom. He used to take me anywhere I asked him to take me. Ice cream, Mc Donald’s, Parks anywhere.”
I could see the tears coming up but she is trying not to cry.
“Every time my parents scolded me, he used to defend me, and now he thinks I’m broken because of the culture here.”
“What has your Grandmother told him?” I reply with confusion
“So, he is visiting here for teaching you Indian Culture.” I ask her
“Yup!” she replies with a weird anger in her voice
“I thought Sheila was against all this!” I ask her
Suzan replies with a disappointment in her voice, “Yeah, she might have changed her mind I guess”
She continues, “I just want tomorrow to finish fast as possible”
I hear a c***k in her voice and she sobs quietly
“It will be alright Suzan!” I say as I pull over the car
I remove my seat belt and take her close to me and hug her.
“It will be alright tomorrow we will get drunk and leave for a whole month. You will have no need to face those shitty things for the next whole month so I guess you should chill.”
“And it’s your family Suzan; they will do what is best for you.”
“Thanks! You remember the time after my uncle left the home and my parents scolded me the first time after he left.
“I was so upset I ran off my house with that hideous pink bike and came at your place all by my own. You hugged me and comforted me during that time”
“Then you and your mother came to my home and left. My parents hugged me and were angry with me for leaving”
“You stayed with me and supported me even then and even now.”
As Suzan is smiling again, I kiss her forehead and put on the seat belt, and drive again as Suzan talks about the time, we were kids.
She keeps on telling about every fight she had and every time how we used to sneak to the park.
While I was driving the car, she was so tired from all the things happening she fell asleep.
When we reach her house, it was about 1 AM
As I park the car, I take a look at Suzan and she is sleeping like a baby.
She is looking so beautiful and then her lips drift apart.
I get from that she is asleep I don’t bother her by waking her up I remove the seat belt and open the front door.
I carry Suzan from the car to the front door. I carry her to her room and her parents were not home.
The full house is decorated and there is a sweet smell in the house.
When I put Suzan in bed, “Jer please stay don’t leave”
“What about your parents?” I ask her
“They know you are a pretty close friend and they wouldn’t bother you being here” she speaks quietly.
“Okay I will stay then however it is very late”
