KILLER“No!” she screamed. The earth continued to shake, and where Azure stood, at the edge of the hole, it started to split. Ailfrans reached her in only two seconds, placing his hand on the girl and sending a pulse of warmth through her that shocked her senses.
The world shifted again around Azure. The boy vanished as she blinked, and the black thread which last she’d seen was bleeding away thousands of smoky strands vanished as well. She earth continued to shake for a few seconds, rocks slowly coming to their new resting places and settling.
Azure looked to Ailfrans, tears falling freely from her eyes, but she could bring no words to her lips. The man’s face was unreadable, but he didn’t look back to her. He stared around at the destruction just a few seconds had brought.
