Chapter 12 Azure awoke in deep darkness. The gentle lulling of the ship as it cut its way across the water with the full wind behind it threatened to pull her back to sleep, but panic caught her first. She shot up in bed, heart pounding at having awoken once again in a place unfamiliar, and slowly the world began to crystalize. The dim light of the setting sun peeked through the small c***k beneath the cabin’s door. The cot she laid in was wet with sweat and some of her own sick, most of which was in a small bucket at the side of the bed. She smelled salt, the dampness of the musty interior, and the odd fragrance of exotic cargo that lay in the crates dotting the room.
