Inside the room, the tension was almost at breaking point.
“Are we tracking those incoming missiles?” Harada asked. He had his jacket off and his shirt sleeves rolled up.
“Yes sir, we have every path displayed on the board.”
“Activate the surface defences then. When those missiles get within range, blow them out of the sky,” Harada ordered.
“Copy that, sir,” the general said. After another few minutes, the general added, “Missiles will be within range of the surface defence guns in three minutes, sir.”
“When they are, open fire. I want them stopped,” Harada said.
“The defence guns are set to automatic, sir. When the target is acquired, they will open fire.”
