Her eyes found him the moment she walked in. It was like they were meant to meet. She was quiet that night for the first time in her life, her eyes occasionally straining towards the counter, curious as she looked at the blond, scarred and gorgeous man who seemed to notice her too. Initially, she'd thought he seemed shocked by her presence but maybe she was wrong.
Did he find her attractive? She wondered. Or was she just being weird staring at a stranger like she wanted to get to know him, and wanted to marry him. Marrying him definitely wouldn't be a bad thought.
She shook her head as she strayed away from him to her friends. She wasn't very successful in being discreet with her stares though, because Remy spoke over the loud music playing in the bar.
“You've been staring at the new employee for a while now.”
Andrea almost spilled her drink on her dress as she looked at Remy in surprise.
"You're back to liking someone so soon?" Remy had a look of disapproval on her face. “He's not exactly… Well, he's hot, yes. But you're… you. If you think your parents are going to be mad, imagine what'll happen if you're with such a person. I say this with no offense to him, of course.”
Andrea sighed, watching as Kylie left their table to dance with a strange man who'd whispered in her ear. Since she was a wolf, she could take care of herself, so the girls gave her the go ahead.
She tried to discreetly look at the guy again and found him staring back. It should be creeping her out, but she liked it for some reason. However, he seemed to have a contemplative look on his face that Andrea almost thought he'd heard their conversation.
“I'm just admiring him, Remy. It's not like he's my mate or anything," Andrea muttered, ignoring the interested looks some men were giving her from afar. She didn't want to dance, nor did she want to hang out with any man. She wanted to hang out with him though.
She tried to numb her nose to the smell of everyone at the bar and the loud music, worried about her hearing acting up. From the moment she stepped into the building, her senses seemed to be acting up, making her acutely aware of everything whether good or bad.
“I'm going to the restroom," she announced to Remy all of a sudden. Remy didn't seem surprised by this and simply gave her a nod as a response, sipping her drink silently.
Andrea could feel her eyes on her as she left. She didn't walk into any of the doors, instead moving a bit farther from them down the hallway because she didn't really want to pee. She just wanted to be away from the people for a bit. She was internally grateful that the bar was always strict with sanitation when it came to everything. If not she'd be facing something worse here.
“Hi."
She swirled, startled as she saw the man who'd taken over her mind. She looked up at him, secretly liking the height difference.
“Hi," she whispered.
The sudden kisses and touches ignited the fire that was already burning within her. Andrea wanted to wrap her clothes- their clothes apart, just so their n***d skin would collide. It wasn't her first s****l experience, but it was going to be her first with someone. Someone that made her feel things she'd never felt before.
“Your eyes… they're not blue anymore,” she breathed as she took in his face after breaking off the kiss. She'd never seen anyone's eyes change like that.
He looked over her face silently, a smile playing on his lips and then he answered, “They changed because of you."
"What?” she whispered.
“You're still as beautiful as the last time I saw you," he whispered as he kissed her.
She frowned as she moved away from his lips, searching his face in confusion. “What do you mean?" She asked. "Have we met before?”
They'd never met. She was so sure of it. If they had, she'd remember.
His amber eyes brightened under the moonlight as he smiled softly, tracing her face as he softly answered, “Yes. We have."
Andrea's eyes widened as she took in his words. She wanted to back away from him, but couldn't. It was impossible. He smelled so wonderful, felt so wonderful. And she wanted a taste.
To get it out of the way because she didn't believe him, she asked, “How?"
“As mates."
Andrea gasped. “Are you messing with me?"
For some reason, she didn't think he was being ridiculous. It all sounded ridiculous, sure, but her heart didn't seem to think so. But the problem was that she'd truly never met him. Because who on earth would meet their mate and forget?
“Over two hundred years ago," he continued, making Andrea speechless, unable to say anything in response. "I didn't expect to find you so soon, but I'm glad I did.”
“I really don't know what to say,” she responded after staring at him in silence.
He reached for her hand, electricity going through her veins as their fingers touched. “It's fine, but I just wanted to let you know that I've missed you so much, Thea.”
A piercing pain suddenly went to her head the moment he mentioned the name, a pain so unbearable that she couldn't help but scream in agony, her hands on her ears which were bleeding. She fell into strong and warm arms that supported her from hitting the ground.
“What's wrong?"
She could hear the worry and pain in his voice as she kept screaming. She wanted to tell him that it wasn't his fault, but she couldn't say anything. It was almost like someone was hitting her head with a nail and hammer.
She didn't know what happened next, but she blacked out, unable to bear anymore of the pain.
