Serena Vale ~•~ It was easy to fall back into routine with them. Douglas wasn’t at the back of my mind anymore. If there was something he valued more than his ego, it was his reputation. He’d rather let me go than let people see him in a bad light, so my threat worked out pretty well for me. When Nik and Ralph asked me how I handled it, they wore proud smiles on their faces as I narrated it to them. They told me it was dangerous to let an ex who wanted me back into my house. I told them I knew that but had to take the risk in case I got something on him and I did. They looked like they wanted to say more but Rafael went, “Never mind, I forgot we can’t do relationship things.” The silence after that was awkward but it didn’t last for long.
