The first bite of the steak was the best. It tasted exactly how I pictured it would. I haven’t had something like this in a long time. Cain watched me carefully. “I see you like it?” There was no point denying it, so I nodded. “It’s the best.” He grinned. “I’m glad you like it.” He took a bite of his too and moaned a little. That caught my attention. I looked up at him. “Seems you like it too,” I said and winked. Cain chuckled, and that was how the tension slipped away. I did enjoy every bit of it. The rice tasted exactly how I had pictured it would. We talked about a lot of things. I’ve never seen Cain look this normal. I think I like the normal Cain more, not the icy Cain.
