8. Hidding From Alex

1115 Words
Shirley POV I was hiding in the restroom in the Vradie building. I was taking a walk to enjoy the beauty of this place. While I was finding out about the condition of Wolftown after the death of my entire family. How stupid of me. I forgot that Alex is now the leader of Wolftown. I also just learned that the Alphas of the various Packs have formed a coalition and bowed down under Alex. "Where is she?" I heard Alex's voice. I hid as much as possible. Alex could sniff me out. "Who are you looking for?" I also heard a female voice near Alex. Oh, God. I was curious. It wasn't Alex's wife's voice. I ventured to peek behind the crack in the door. I saw him. The man who had rejected and humiliated me in public. Alex Brisney. Now he's even more handsome. Ah, damn it. I'm still mesmerized by him. I saw a woman beside Alex. Who is she? From her body language, it seems like they're close. I was confident enough to remember Bianca's face. That's not Alex's wife. Then did Alex cheat on his wife? Did Alex turn out to be a playboy? I cursed myself for ever being so happy to have a Lycan King for a mate. Among the shifters on earth, the Lycans were the strongest. The shifters could hardly defeat them. Lycan is no ordinary shifter. In their blood flows vampire blood. According to legend, they are a mutation between vampires and werewolves. They don't die easily except by their own will. And Alex was a pure Lycan descendant. At least that's according to the story that developed among the shifters. "Katty, can you go to the toilet?" Alex asked. I heard Alex call the woman Katty. But who is she? Oh, damn! That's not what matters now. Alex smelled my body's scent. He asked Katty to check in the toilet. What should I do? "Alex, there's no one in this place. Since the attack a month ago, shifters have been reluctant to enter Vradie. "I sniffed it. Don't you sense any other creatures here?" Alex insisted. I racked my brain. I couldn't get caught. If Katty went into the toilet, then she would know about my existence. Honestly, I don't care if I have to see Alex again. But that's if he wasn't the prime suspect in the death of my entire family. I could have been his target. Meanwhile, I have to find the reason why my family was killed. Purple Moon Pack is hostile to the Lycans, but that doesn't mean Alex can slaughter my entire family. I heard footsteps heading to the restroom. My heart was racing. I can't get caught. If Alex finds me and kills me. Then what about Jonas? I'm all he has. I quickly jumped to the top of the toilet. I had to break it. But I tried to close it again after climbing up. I breathed a sigh of relief because I had managed to hide just as Katty entered the toilet. Katty checked one by one each toilet cubicle. She wouldn't find anyone. Because I was the only one in the restroom. I saw Katty's figure. She was beautiful. Her body was tall and slender. And to my amazement, she didn't look like a weak woman. I like the way she stands like a good fighter. "There's no one, Alex," Katty said. "You must be delirious. There's no one in the restroom." "Did you clearly check?" Alex looked incredulous. I knew that Alex was a determined person. But why didn't he fight for me? Why did he abandon me? "You think I'll pretend to check?" Katty looked unhappy with Alex's disbelief in her. Katty patted Alex's shoulder. "We should get going." The Lycan King was still scanning around the place. I could still feel the familiar scent of Alex's body. I never thought that I would meet Alex. The desire to kill him was overwhelming. I had a grudge against Alex. But I couldn't be rash. I had no power at all. While Alex is the strongest being. I looked down sadly. I tried to forgive myself. I left my family, who eventually fell victim to Alex's cruelty. *** "Where have you been?" Peter Hidden nagged me when I returned to the hotel. He must have been worried about me. Living together with Peter is like a miracle. He's a nice guy. Although he is very strict with the rules. Well, shifters are usually like that. "Sorry," I said softly. Peter looked down at me sluggishly. He put his hand on my head and rubbed it. "You alright?" Peter asked. I shook my head. How could I possibly feel okay right now? I lost my entire family. After two years of not seeing each other, I faced such a heartbreaking reality. I felt guilty for my father. I feel bad for my mom. Even though Shireen was annoying, she didn't deserve to be killed in such a cruel way. I don't even know where they are buried. Peter touched my shoulder. I tried not to cry even though my heart was breaking into pieces. "You have to survive for Jonas," Peter said. I looked up at Peter's face. He was the only one who was currently on my side. I don't know why he accepted me. When I first met him, he didn't seem to like me. I was a stranger. Naturally, he didn't accept me. I had nowhere to go with my pregnancy condition. I threw away my ego and shame. I tried to survive in the Red Moon Pack. Peter accepted me. He was very strict with me. Even though I was pregnant, he never spoiled me. But he was always concerned about my condition. When Jonas was born, Peter was the first person to be happy. Peter wasn't Jonas' father, but he knew how to care for my son. "I want to be strong. I want to find out why Alex killed my family! I want him to pay for what he did!" I acted like I wasn't crying. My eyes were teary. My hands were clenched into fists. I had to get revenge. "You can't do it now, Shirley," Peter said. "Why? I can just break into his house and kill him while he sleeps!" Shirley screeched. "He is Lycan. He won't die easily." "At least I should try!" I insisted. I really wanted to kill Alex. "No!" Peter fumed because I was out of control. "If you sneak into Lycan territory, then you could die. You're the only descendant of the Purple Moon Pack. They must be after you."
