Brandon, still holding on to me, stops and silently closes the door behind us. We fall back against the wall, our breath escaping us in huffs. We let the wall support us as we regained our breath and listened for any indication we had been caught.   I listened intently. Everything seemed quiet. I started to take a step. Time to get this escape over with. I knew I'd never really been safe until I was out of here.   Brandon grabbed my arm and pulled, rather roughly. I came up short against the hard stone wall.
