The Queen's Concern

292 Words
Queen Zabifa sat on her bed with a worried expression on her face. The prince had left the dinning with most of his meal untouched. That showed all wasn't well with their son but she didn't want to be pushy in order not to anger him. Her personal maid came in after knocking severally without any response. "My queen! Your majesty!" "Oh Layiza! Have you been here for long?" "Not quite long my queen." "Oh! ok." "You look worried, may I know why?" "I'm worried about my son. He's not himself recently and he hasn't spoken up to me. I don't know what is wrong and I can't also pretend not to have noticed his changes." "We have all noticed it your majesty but we don't know what has happened to him. He was ok the last time we saw him but today, all seems not well with him." "I wish he would confide in me. I'm his mother and he should be able to talk to me when he is troubled. I feel uncomfortable with his refusal to talk to me as his mother." "Don't worry my queen. He will come around. You know how much he loves you. I don't think he would be happy to know he made you worried." "You are right. I will wait patiently for the time he finally decides to open up to me. Thanks for always talking to me and taking care of me." "You know you are like a mother to me. I feel happy whenever I'm of help to you." "Go and take your rest. if I need anything I will send for you. I will like to also rest now." "Ok my queen. I shall be at your beck and call."
