MARY COSGROVE’S HUSBAND Julian drove her to the airport. It was just 06:00 their time. All the early morning flights were full, so they decided to take their chances and wait at the airport on standby. After an hour of waiting, stressing and pacing the floor, they could secure just one ticket for the 08:35 a.m. flight out of Houston. They had half an hour to kill before boarding call, so they looked for a couple of seats away from the maddening crowd. Seated side by side in silence, they quietly prayed for Andy’s safe return. Moments later there was an announcement, the first boarding call for Flight #3883. They stood up simultaneously.
