Aira's POV
We were all pulled into the protective act Sabrina did for Ice.
"Sabrina! No!" Ice cried out, tightly hugging Sabrina.
A sniper's bullet hit Sabrina in the back, right where her heart is. I felt tears well up in my eyes. We quickly carried Sabrina and sat Ice down beside her as she held Sabrina tightly.
After Sabrina was hit by the tantalus knife, she began to fade.
"Sabrina!" I whispered as I saw blood slowly coming out of her mouth.
"Alira, please heal Sabrina," Ice begged.
Alira immediately sat beside Sabrina and tried to heal her chest wound, but her powers didn't work.
"If a guardian is hit by a tantalus knife, there's no cure," I sadly announced. Ice refused to believe me, her mind rejecting my words..
Ice's POV
“No, no, it can’t be. My love for Air was just beginning,” I said, heartbroken by Sabrina’s words.
“Sabrina, why?” I asked, pain evident in my voice.
She looked at me with her bright, yet fading, eyes, blood trickling from her lips.
"Ice, this is my destiny. Remember the vision that Era showed you? This is it. You were supposed to die, but a chosen one cannot perish.”
Her voice grew weaker with every word.
“No, Sabrina, at least don’t talk. Save your energy. We’ll get back to the Crystal Academy and get you healed,”
I pleaded, tears blurring my vision as I held her cheek. I forced myself to stand and carry her back to the academy.
“Stop, Ice. This is my fate,” she said, her voice filled with resignation. She grabbed my hand tightly, and I could feel her growing cold and weak.
I cried as I held her hand to my cheek. She looked me directly in the eyes and spoke.
“Remember the time? Your training to unite the Crystal Studios is about to begin. The book of prophecy has been opened, and it has decreed the death of a guardian to fulfill your destiny. I’m glad I met you and was able to train the royalty. Be strong, Ice. Continue the training I couldn’t finish. All of you have a great responsibility in our world.
Tell Malaysian that there’s a traitor among the guardians who stole the tantan snip. Keep this tantanus knife. I trust you, Ice, and all of the royalty. Do your duty as a chosen one in this world.”
She looked at all the royalty who were now crying.
Trust no one," she preached to us, our bay.
"Sabrina, please stop talking, Xavier," someone urged.
"We're going to save you."
"But..." I pleaded with her.
Sabrina smiled painfully at me and slowly shook her head.
"No, Ice," she said, holding my arms where my animal guardian, the phoenix, and the crystal stone were. Wait, the hand holding them was glowing gold.
"I'm giving you a gift, Ice. Take care of my power. You are a special Ice. Special to my heart," Sabrina said weakly, her last words barely audible.
I didn't fully understand what she meant. She smiled at me as the glow faded from her hand, and I looked at my shoulder where she had been holding.
Before, my two phoenixes and my crystal stone were on my shoulder. Now, one phoenix was blue, the other red, and a golden sword with a moon-patterned vine pierced the red crystal stone.
"Take care of my power, Ice. I'm giving it to you," she whispered, giving me a sweet smile.
"Why, Sabrina? Why?" I asked, my heart aching.
"Someday you'll know and you'll understand. Goodbye, my Ice, Xavier," she replied.
"No, Sabrina!" I cried out.
She closed her eyes.
"Sabrina, please open your eyes, Sabrina," I begged, but she didn't respond. Her eyes and hands slowly fell limp.
"SABRINA!" I screamed.
"AHHH..."
Alira's POV:
We were all crying, hurting from everything that happened. We couldn't do anything to save Sabrina, to help her. I saw the pain in Ice's eyes as he hugged Sabrina, who was now lifeless. I couldn't help but think that we were useless; we couldn't do anything to help Sabrina. All we could do was cry.
But we were shocked when Sabrina's color suddenly started to fade like a bubble.
"Ice...Sabrina..." Sandra suddenly said, pointing to the part of Sabrina's hand that was disappearing.
Ice immediately looked at it and was also shocked by what was happening.
"What? What happened to her? No!" he cried out in pain
"Ice, Sabrina gave you her power so you wouldn't forget her. And even though it's a custom among royalty, and because of the Snipe's curse, one of its effects is that everyone might forget her. And the only way to prevent her from fading from everyone's memory is for her to entrust her power to someone important in her life. But there's a price to pay: she will wander for eternity, her soul unable to find peace even in the afterlife, and she'll have no reason to be reborn.
Aria suddenly explained to Ice.
Ice hugged Sabrina tighter and continued to cry, overwhelmed by pain.
This was the first time we, the royalty, had ever seen Ice cry. It meant that Sabrina was truly important to him.
I fell to the ground and cried too, heartbroken by everything that had happened.
Even though we'd only known
Sabrina for a short time, she had proven herself to be kind, especially when teaching us. She had truly taught us well so that we, the royalty, could learn. And now she's gone.
We couldn't do anything to defend her.
The royalty is hurting because of what happened to Sabrina, but I know Ice feels the pain even more deeply.
A more concise summary:
Sabrina gave Ice her power to be remembered. However, this means she'll wander forever, unable to rest. Ice is heartbroken and the royalty is grieving her loss.
"We felt an even deeper pain when Sabrina's body vanished like a soap bubble.
"AHHHH! SABRINA!" Ice screamed loudly, punching the ground repeatedly.
"Ice, please stop," Sandra pleaded, crying.
"You're going to hurt yourself. Enough."
Aria also tried to restrain him, but Ice ignored them and continued to pound the ground.
Leander and Dustin were about to reach him when Ice screamed again, even louder.
AHHHH!
Simultaneously, a series of explosions rocked the Moon Crystal Forest. The symbols on Ice's left shoulder glowed brightly.
"AHHHH!" Ice roared, and slowly stood up. His entire body was enveloped in a red glow.
"I'll avenge you, Sabrina. I promise," Ice growled angrily.
The sky was filled with a violent storm.
Overwhelmed by rage, Ice summoned his animal guardian—two giant phoenixes, one blue and one red, soared through the sky."
Explosions were happening in rapid succession in the Crystal Moon Forest.
The Phoenix Guardians, fueled by an endless supply of fire, were causing havoc.
Even Ice, relentlessly channeling fire from his hands, was contributing to the chaos.
Half the forest was already ablaze.
"Era of Sandra, Dustin, Leander," I called out to the royalty. "We need to stop Ice before he destroys the entire Crystal Forest."
"What is he doing?" I asked, alarmed.
"AHHHH!" Ice screamed again, followed by a deafening roar from his two Phoenixes as they spewed fire all around, further engulfing the forest.
"What should we do to stop his rampage?" I asked, filled with worry.
Like me, the other royalty had no idea how to stop Ice, who was spiraling out of control. If this continued, he would consume all his power.
"Ice, stop! This isn't what Sabrina wants for you," Dustin shouted, but Ice seemed oblivious.
"Ice, come on, stop this! This isn't
right," Leander said, trying to approach Ice but recoiled as Ice lashed out.
"What the—summer, the power in his runes!" Leander exclaimed.
"ICE, is this what you want? To destroy Sabrina's home? I know you know how much this forest means to her. If you don't stop, you'll regret it," Aira shouted.
Ice finally stopped at Aira's words.
"AHHHH!" he screamed again, clutching his head in pain.
We were about to approach him when a voice cut through the air:
"Seal of binding, silence the raging fire." With those words, a blinding light enveloped the area, causing Ice's two Phoenixes to vanish. The fires in the Crystal Forest ceased, and Ice collapsed.
"Ice!" we cried out, rushing towards him. Thankfully, he was okay.
"Don't worry, I've merely put him to sleep," a woman's voice said from behind us. We turned to see her
"We were stunned to see who was standing behind us."
