The dark mages turned, their eyes burning with malevolent light. There was no escape. They had seen us. Ice, as the leader, stepped forward, his face hardening. "Prepare yourselves!" he commanded.
Before anyone could react, the dark mages unleashed a barrage of dark energy blasts. The ground erupted around us, forcing us to scatter. Dustin slammed his hands into the earth, raising a wall of earth to protect Sandra and Luna. "Sandra, protect Luna!" he shouted.
Sandra, her eyes glowing with a watery light, summoned a swirling vortex of water, intercepting some of the blasts raining down on them. Luna, though frightened, focused her energy, attempting to blend with the shadows, making herself a less visible target.
