What was the outcome of your meeting with the label executives? Did anything go well in the end? Mandy questioned Kingsley. Amanda will win the prize for being his biggest fan if there is one. When everyone else turned their backs on him, it seemed like she was the only one who still had faith in his musical career. Not even Kingsley's friends think his songs are worth listening to. Amanda is quite certain that Kingsley could succeed in the music industry.
“The same old tale, Mandy. They want me to sign some dreadful agreement for $100k. Who does that? I would start promoting myself and being my own boss right away if I had that much money.” Like a pregnant housewife, Kingsley wept.
“Hew!” Amanda gave a sigh. This can no longer be tolerated. How about getting a job to maintain your physical and spiritual integrity? We need something to stay fit. “You cannot continue to rely on the music thing when your stomach is empty,” she suggested.
“Are you proposing that I give up on music? It is unbelievable that you would say this. You were meant to be my biggest fan and supporter, but instead you band together with others to minimize my potential.”
"How can you say that? Amanda pulled Kingsley in closer and planted a kiss on his lips to ease his anxiety. “That is not true, and you know it,” she begged.
For Declan, it was the most embarrassing moment of his life. He wished he had never accepted the invitation to follow Kingsley home.
What kind of rubbish is this? How dare Amanda do this to me? It does not seem like the person I am seeing now would be able to give her the life she desires. Why is she making such a big effort to accept my offer? I hate it!" Like a warlock gearing up for battle, Declan raged. He would have taken a long-range shot at Kingsley to be with Amanda if he would be allowed to kill at that precise moment.
Declan waited for Mandy to leave, maintaining his composure before acting.
“Let us say that I grant your wish to obtain employment. Have you not taken my credentials into consideration? I graduated with the lowest grades, in contrast to you. How can that be fixed?” Kingsley identified yet another obstacle to his possible job.
Amanda muttered, “Oh, that is true.”
"You see what I mentioned? Currently, music is our only remaining option, Kingsley continued.
She thought for a moment, then snapped her finger, saying, “Wait.”
“You are welcome to work alongside me. My boss would definitely hire you if I talked to him about you,”
“Improper action
join you in the workplace? Why even would you propose that? Oh, my!” Kingsley dismissed it with a shrug. Her opinion did not seem worthy to him.
“So, what will we do now? That appeared to be the best choice available. Who knows, maybe my boss will support you in your musical endeavors. Here is an additional option: you work for a few months and accumulate funds to challenge yourself. Would you like to try that? Pretty interesting, huh?” Amanda offered yet another idea, but Kingsley rejected it. He persisted that they hold on to their optimism and concentrate on his music career.
"You know what? Should we talk about this tomorrow morning? You will not be going to work on Saturday. Tonight, I have a meeting with an executive from another label. “If things do not work out well, I might agree to your request,” he said. Amanda was unable to resist the opinion.
Kingsley saw Amanda halfway to her flat, so they held hands. Declan had the impulse to follow them. He discarded that notion after giving it some more thinking, waiting for Kingsley to come back to his car before acting. A few minutes passed before Kingsley could make it back to his flat. Because Declan understood the value of pursuing happiness, he was not upset with Kingsley for being late.
Declan told himself, “It is time,” getting ready for what might be the hardest task he had ever encountered. He cautiously descended from his car and waited for Kingsley to return inside.
Declan looked both ways, shrewdly observing to make sure nobody was looking at him.
To keep Amanda from learning about it, he had to make sure the job was done well.
“Who is in?” Knocking on Kingsley's door, Declan asked. It is a one-room flat with cracked walls and faded cream-colored paint.
Declan found the atmosphere to be a little off-putting, and he could not help but wonder how Kingsley managed to win Amanda over with his deep love.
"Who is that? As he emerged shirtless and beaming, Kingsley's voice resounded from within, declaring, “I am coming.” He believed Amanda was hurrying back. He was already familiar with every possible s*x position.
Kingsley stepped forward a little and looked around the neighborhood, his eyes sweeping Declan's whole body. He had to make sure Declan was by himself.
“Who are you? I apologize; I do not remember ever seeing this face.”
"Would you mind if we went in to talk? Declan grinned, "I have got a proposal for you. Even though he was hurting on the inside, he had to pretend to keep his plan intact.
"Pardon me? However, I am not familiar with you.
Is this the method you use to violate people's privacy? His baritone voice warned Declan, 'If you do not leave this minute, I will be forced to call the cops on you.
"That would not be necessary.
“You are Kingsley, Amanda's boyfriend, right? I am Amanda's boss.” Declan gave a brief introduction.
“I see. Were you sent to me by Amanda? What do you want?”
“To talk to you about a deal that could change your life. I take it that you play music, correct? It improves the quality of our conversation.”
“How did you manage to…" Kingsley pulled to a stop. He had the sudden impression that Amanda had told Declan a lot about him. They briefly talked about Kingsley possibly joining Dec Pharm's staff. Declan may be here, according to Kingsley, to talk to him about other formalities.
Following his brief moment of resiliency, Kingsley eventually said, “Do come in.”
"I will do this quickly.
Declan said, “I want you to leave Amanda for me,” without thinking twice.
“What do you say?” Kingsley pricked his ears to make sure he understood Declan.
Exactly what you were told.
Should you agree to carry out my instructions, you will receive $5 million.
Five what? There is nothing like my love for Amanda. “I am unable to exchange her for any material possessions, not even gold or silver,” Kingsley exclaimed indignantly. He dashed to the door, leaving it ajar.
“Please leave this place right away.
Why her? I mean, there are a gazillion girls who would give anything to be in your arms. Why squander so much money on Amanda? You know you could use the money wisely?”
