19 A shadow moved over the camp. Lilianya moved into it, blending into the darkness. She became part of the shadow as she focused her magic. Being a shadow had its advantages. Now she could slip into the cage where Faelyn slept. The girl leaned against the cage, an innocent and restful expression on her face. She didn’t look like a prisoner at all. Yet, here she was, trapped in a cage. Lilianya lingered above her, her shadow darkening the inside of the cage. Everyone was sound asleep. Well, almost everyone. A few guards littered the ground, but none near the cage. The prison guard was asleep in a chair at the front of it. Lilianya hoped they wouldn’t need to go out the front. She materialized next to Faelyn. Lilianya put her hand over the little girl’s mouth. Faelyn’s eyes opened wide.
