New year....1894
It was new year and everyone's busy packaging lots of surprise for friends and relatives. More so... some stores are filled with jewelries and little kids all over.
But in the city somewhere no one would ever care visit... in a building... no a mansion sat a woman at her early 20s with another woman besides her on the couch and they both seem to hold the full plate of popcorn as there eyes stared curiously at the big television before them.
....
One of them who was dressed in a casual wear....stood up to stretch out. Her long smooth dark brown hair tied up in a ponytail matching her bright brown eyes.
"Don't you think it's time for you to leave", she asked not turning to look at the woman behind her.
"Not really Isabelle, I'm willing to stay behind if you want", she replied as she too stood up to stretch but she passed when she had her friends reply ;
"It's time you go spend time with your family Heeret... they must be worried sick already".
Heeret didn't give out a retort... she was tired of doing that, it was like she was used to this answer. Her best friend always being or trying to act unapproachable.
She didn't want to say a thing or give a reply, she had her own problems but she was sure they weren't as much compared to her best friend's.
"Okay Isa... talk to you later",Heeret replied and turn to leave.
Isabelle sighed to herself when Heeret was no longer in sight.... this was the worst time of her life... New Year... more or less Christmas...she didn't know much on her own life but she knew the day she was born and she always proposed it to be a cursed memory.
It was on a new year that she was born and that day was today. Heeret her best friend didn't even know about it and she wasn't interested in letting her know.
" Miss Isabelle", she heard someone call her from behind making her snap out of her thoughts as she turned.
"What? Is it my dad", Isabelle asked the butler
"Yes Miss Isabelle....", he answered and walked away.
Isabelle rolled her eyes before walking behind the Butler... she wouldn't call them her parents, they were her foster parents.. who had taken her in from a little age. It wasn't as if they took care of her as their one and only child... they just made her life look more like a curse.
She paused when the large doors open before her, revealing someone she was never fond of... someone she couldn't even remember a memory with.
A man stood not too far away from her... whoever took a glance towards him would see the authority and ambition within those fearless eyes. his hair neatly combed backwards and his clear black pupils glaring towards her position.
" If it isn't my one and only best assassin", his voice rang before her ears and she refused to reveal an emotion. She was amongst the best assassin he had raised... she knew they were others but she was sure none of them were in this mansion at least. This was her father "Rohan"... he wasn't an emperor or a king as rumors displayed but just a wealthy man full of authority. He owned the strongest gang company in "Mytheald" although that was all she knew. Her father was never around except he needed her for a mission one that he's other trained assassins couldn't carry.
Isabelle not replying his comment gave a slight bow and patiently awaited his reply.
Rohan gave out a chuckle before walking towards her... Isabelle heard the doors open behind her and she turned... her face slightly lost its color before it was replaced with an unfazed expression.
A woman who held an upright expression...one filled with pride walked towards Rohan and he left a perk on her cheek.
It was Leah.. Rohan's one and only wife, she had never had a good thought about Isabelle. Isabelle knew how much the woman despise her...every since Rohan decided to take her in...the memory was still vivid in her head.
Isabelle had always had the skill buried within her...she had killed the ring leader of the orphanage she had stayed and it looked like it was only Rohan that had figured everything out.
When he took her in...he always showed interest in her skill and she could only guess how much it paying his wife "Leah".
"Have you told this b**** of her mission", Leah asked her husband as she eyed Isabelle angrily.
" In two days, a man will visit...a threat to my business...I need you to survey his features and I'll send you to his mansion to also survey the place, you'll try every means to end his life, then I will fulfill your wishes", Rohan explained watching her expression closely.
Isabelle looked surprise, she had only one wish and that was her real parents... she wanted to see them, hug them and ask why they had left her but finally...that wish was coming to pass...suddenly determination flashed through her features and she eagerly nodded.
" That's my girl", Rohan parted her head and looking towards the butler he walked away.
When Rohan left Leah walked towards her..."don't you think you survive this mission", she threatened.
" Is there a reason why I shouldn't think", Isabelle replied with the frown.
Leah put up a knowing smile and chuckled ,"there has never been a survival amongst the other assassins my husband sent".
Isabelle refused to waver at least she refused to believe that Rohan was trying to use her knowing fully well that this mission was a suicidal one.
' He wouldn't just lose his best assassinator right?', she thought.
....
Two days came like the wind and Isabelle walked down the corridor a little nervous. What Leah had said refused to leave her thoughts. 'What did she mean by no survival', she thought.
" Oh here you are", a voice echoed before her and she lifted her head.
She greeted with a slight bow and looked thoughtfully at the woman before her.
Would there be a day that she'll never have to hear this woman's disgusting voice...at least whenever she was around.
" I and my husband have agreed that you be in charge of serving this visitor", Leah informed.
" Okay miss Leah, I should be on my way now",Isabelle quickly dismissed and hurried away.
An evil smile graced Leah's lips as she turned to watch Isabelle retreat. "I can't wait to hear of your disappearance princess", she thought.
"Leah!," a voice called behind her and she turned with a smile. 'At least her husband doesn't have to know about the true lineage of Isabelle'....
Isabelle held tray that held two glasses of fine wine as she walked towards sitting room trailing closely from behind the butler. She kept her face down when the doors were opened after realising Leah's plan.
She had wanted to make her look like maid.'Leah!!', she's scolded within her as she placed the tray on the long table before she straightened and her eyes met another pair making her freeze.
She immediately blinked and turned to work towards Rohan who sat on a couch. She went to stand next to him going according to the plan.
Back to her earlier experience, there was no way she was going to kill that man! Wasn't he the rumoured CEO Heeret always spoke about, she asked herself and look towards him. There he sat with an unwavering expression staring straight towards her father through those deceiving midnight pupils and his slightly disheveled b black hair. and those thick long lashes she couldn't keep her mind out of.
