Chapter 13 ~ So familiar

1042 Words
Isabelle was quite surprised with how many people had surrounded the airport.. it was like she was the president's daughter or one big rich families spoilt daughter...they were lots of bodyguard everywhere something, she had never experienced before. ..... twilight She just reached England and it was already twilight.. good thing it wasn't a two days journey..one day would even be too much, shocked by the number of men she saw and they all seemed to be waiting for her. "Please don't be scared Princess Isabelle..his Highness expects your presence right now", a man who was leaning against a black mercedes spoke boldly unlike the other stiff bodyguard's..she turned to meet his eyes. They were hazel in color matching his short black hair that seemed to fall front a little. He walked round and opened the door for her with a smile as if to ease her nerves. Of course she didn't miss the evident look of surprise that crossed his features.. he must have known her from a little age though she doesn't remember but she'll also be surprised if she met someone she saw as a child later in future and he was handsome, tall and very masculine. She knew she was beautiful..a lot of people let her know. Without a retort she obediently entered the car and closing the door he quickly entered the driver's seat and began to move. "Music?", his question coming out friendly...a little too friendly for her liking. 'Did she perhaps miss a close childhood friend', she asked herself. "Of course.. play the music.. passenger's seat", she responded and without a word he quickly put her requirement and faced the road. Time passed and Isabelle began to wonder just how long wherever they were heading was, from the airport. As if reading her mind he spoke, "This is England princess..the castle is past the borders of England.. I advice that you rest a little". Isabelle turned to look at him..she wanted to know why he looked and acted in a familiar way. "Who are you exactly", she asked showing no evidence of curiosity in her voice. She wanted to clear her doubts.. besides he was quite bold in talking to her .why shouldn't she also be bold. He took quite a long time before he answered, "The name's Graham... I'm one of your father's most trusted guards if I choose to put it that way.. I grew up in the castle so of course we were once friends". She raised her raised a brow at his explanation. 'So that was it', she thought. No wonder he was able to talk to her like they were related. "So that means he has other trusted bodyguard's", she reasoned out cleverly and he smiled as if expecting her question. "No... it's just two of us.. the other can be a little... let me just how say he's a little wrong in the head", he chuckled as if remembering a memory. "Do I know him", she asked. For some reason she couldn't draw a wall between them even if she knew she was supposed to....I mean she just met him. "Of course... you both were very close..maybe if you meet him it'll ring a bell", Graham just sent an encouraging smile which she equally returned before turning to look outside the window and at the passing trees. "Very close huh", she whispered..her voice very faint because of the passing wind...'Just as she thought it was midnight already', she told herself while wondering how her life will go on from here hence forth..the place was beautiful and with the mansion's around she could tell England was a place built only for royal's. Her eyelids began to feel heavy before it eventually closed... ...... Isabelle slowly opened her eyes before lazily closing them... she sat up and rubbed her eyes before coming down from the bed...when she put her legs into the slippers she looked down and froze...why were they so different from her usual slippers.. she couldn't remember getting a new one. Just like that she was jotted awake immediately..she looked around..a hint of confusion crossed her eyes as if realization had hit her, she turned to search for her phone.. when she did find it she switched it on. It was eleven in the night!! If she could remember clearly didn't she fall asleep in the car while Graham was driving...what happened next? Isabelle decided to leave the room first..she wouldn't be able to drift into another world of slumber if she didn't get an explanation at least, even though she was still feeling quite tired. As if it was still twilight the little lamps hung on the wall gave the corridor a little glow...she decided to walk wherever her mind led her until she could spot a single soul. She couldn't avoid the portraits that were hung on the wall...'Was that her father?'. She could notice the similarity his eyes held to hers...he was handsome but her picture was nowhere to be found. The woman she saw looked nothing like her and it brought a feeling of annoyance within her surprising her... perhaps there was a bad memory with the woman though she couldn't recall any. Brushing the thought away she paused in her movements when a figure came in view. A man whose presence screamed authority came in view..he held a fine glass of wine twirling it in his hands..his other hand was shoved in his pocket..her gaze moved upward to notice his dark colored hair that was neatly combed..what caught her attention was his bright brown eyes that let out nothing but peace...his demeanor was calm but there seemed to be a bit loneliness lingering within it..as if sensing her presence he turned to meet her curious eyes and a familiar warm smile made its way to his lips. "My Isa", his warm voice called out as he stretched his hands for her and as if compelled to do so..she walked towards him.. when her soft hands met his.. he swiftly pulled her to him surprising her and she let out a gasp. 'Graham was right though..this place could be distracting', she thought because all of a sudden she lost herself... 'the hug was very familiar'.
