Days passed like a flip of a book...and weeks like watching a moving wave..to months. Isabelle spent her time.. knowing every nook and corner of the city.. England. She had also decided that if she was going to find answers to her questions she'll need to find her uncle..she realised that if she were in his shoes for example her best friend Heeret... she'll do the same. She had lots of things hidden from Heeret and even had to lie to her in other to save her from Leah's eyes... since Leah loved to torment Isabelle. So her uncle was just trying to save her from something..but what exactly..was it that hard to let her know. Even her father seemed to know part of the reason but he refused to let her know.
She wouldn't force it out.. 'she'll just investigate on it herself', she thought.
She used her hacking skills to track her uncle's location.. Laurence. It looked like he was just on par with her... his security was pretty tight... tighter than any she had seen. There wasn't any flaw in it's information, therefore she couldn't have access to any single clue.
"Isabelle", she heard someone call from behind her..she didn't have to turn to know who that voice belonged to.. she had gotten used to his presence.
Vladimir came to stand next to her on the rooftop... following her line of sight to the sky and he couldn't stop a smile from reaching his lips...an emotion crossing his eyes together with a memory.
..... past
"What are you doing here Vlad", little Isabelle asked coming to sit next to him on the rooftop...it was a big offence in the castle..for a princess to be found with people like maids worse to say children of maids or orphans.. like him.
"What are you doing here and where's your father", he asked not liking the fact that she seemed to always get in trouble wherever he was.
"Shouldn't I be here... I'm here because I want to see you... Laurence hasn't visited for a week now", she blurted out and the boy had to turn to the side to hide the little blush on his cheeks. He couldn't help but feel happy whenever she looked for his presence even though it wasn't allowed by the king..she never obeyed his words.
"I'm star gazing", he finally gave a reply to her first question and the girl turned towards the sky with a smile.
"Wow.. it's beautiful...are those the kind they call shooting stars", she curiously asked to which he shook his head.
"No..they aren't.. shooting stars are pretty scars around here.. you'll find them in Mytheald...", he paused as if realization had hit him but he shook the thought away.
.... Back to the present
"You do know your father would expect you to follow him today for the ball at the kuinn's mansion", he reminded her and she nodded before turning to meet his eyes that were always trained on no one but her. It hurt her deep inside whenever she noticed it...he always looking at her. She had noticed something.. Graham seemed to be the only normal person her father went around with.. Vladimir..was almost nowhere to be found..and recently he was around her..as if wanting to tell her something...he was getting hard to understand..ever since she came to England it was like everyone was as skilled as she was..she couldn't understand people easily the way she did back in A country..and it confused her.
"Is there something you'd like to say to me Vlad", she decided to ask..she creased her brows when she noticed him look away avoiding her gaze..his attention was back to the scanty sky..'stars weren't many tonight', she thought. Either way she patiently awaited his reply..at least hoping he'll hint on something.
"I'm leaving England", he finally informed and for a moment she froze together with her heart..it was like a piece of it got paralyzed. It wasn't like she could return his feelings so why did she feel bad..'maybe this was actually better for him', she thought. She wished she could ask why but she bit hard on her tongue to stop herself from asking any question. Since she couldn't return his feelings for her.. maybe it would be better if he moved on without her and found someone better.. someone who'll be ready to return his feelings and take him seriously.. it'll be better if he let her go.
Vlad was about to leave when she called out, "Wait!".
He turned with a raised brow... he didn't want to stay around her any longer..he couldn't trust himself on what other thing he might end up saying in her presence.
"You.. know where Laurence is...don't you?", she asked and noticed the way his jaws clenched as if trying to control his anger.
"Seems like whatever that man does to you... you'll never forget him", he whispered but she heard it anyway making her brows raise in surprise. She understood why he would speak like that but she wasn't happy to talk about him either..she was just looking for answers nothing extra. He went silent for a while before saying, "I'll be leaving tomorrow..and.. you'll probably find him in Mytheald". Like that he left.. not sparing her another glance... to her.. it was like everyone she was close to was leaving her side one way or the other... Laurence..Heeret... Vladimir.. who'll probably be next?
.....
Isabelle was quite surprised when she reached their destination with her father...this wasn't any ball..instead it looked like they were the only visitor.
"I thought we came for a ball father", Isabelle asked with a frown as she exited the car.
"I told you that because I knew you'll probably escape from my clutches", her father laughed as if they were playing a game. She couldn't help but laugh too even though it wasn't funny...at all.
"Oh.. you brought the princess with you!", Qila pointed out acting surprised but Isabelle saw right through it. She rolled her eyes at the actress before her. 'She probably didn't know her daughter in law was planning to kill her only son'.
