After what felt like a lifetime of magical bootcamp (but was probably closer to a week), we were finally heading back to Windridge. Don't get me wrong, I'd learned more about my powers in the past few days than I had in my entire life. But if I never saw another "murder pixie" or had to wrestle a kraken again, it would be too soon.
"I can't believe we're going home," I sighed, leaning my head against Leo's shoulder as we piled into Alpha Thorne's SUV. "It feels like we've been gone for years."
