Episode 4

Sean Fernandez had grown in old money. The Fernandez were extremely wealthy, running the biggest hotel in New York City. Sean had always been arrogant, never had to wait for anything in his life, and was indeed manipulative. "That'd be all." He dismissed the maid who had served him a glass of wine. "Here you are." His blood tensed at the sound of his brother's voice. "Why are you here?" "Come on, Sean. This is my house as much as it's yours." Noah said doing his best to get on his brother's nerves. "Very well then." Sean got on his feet and left for the courtyard. Sean was never a fan of his brother but he had tolerated him until two years ago when everything went south. "We're brothers. Whatever happened in the past should be left there." Noah followed him to the courtyard and Sean took a deep breath. He knew his brother was trying to get a reaction from him but he wouldn't give in. Noah was sly and no one aside from him knew this. He knew why his brother had come. "Noah. Father informed me of how responsible you now are with your wife and your cute daughter. D'you think he'd hold unto such ideas if he found out you left your beautiful family to come here and disturb my peace?" Sean took a long sip of his wine whilst smirking. Noah scoffed. "I'm not here to disturb your peace or whatever. I just came over because Father asked me to. I hear you're getting married soon." He snickered. "Who's feeding you with such ideas?" "Oh, that's good then. I get to be the heir. I'm the oldest after all. It's proper procedure." Sean smiled before settling down on a chair. "It is. But everyone knows you're undeserving of such a position. You've never had to work for it and you never will. Married or not, it belongs to me." Noah charged at his brother almost tripping him over. Sean got up and dusted his suit. "Acting like rascals, are we?" He patted his brother's shoulders before heading inside. He smiled all the way knowing he had hit some nerve. Throughout the day, he had thought about his Father's proposal and he knew he needed to act fast. He had gotten a call from the office later that day that his brother had secured a post at the hotel management. Noah was creeping into his crib and he didn't like it one bit. He needed to act fast. Which is why he was at the strip club. He called the manager, Joe, and his room was ready. What he didn't expect ready was the stripper on his bed. "Look who came running today." He said smirking. Mia didn't even glance at him. She readjusted her mask. "Take off the mask." He ordered. "Why? It's against club policy and even if it wasn't. Why should I?" "Because I want you to." She scoffed and got on her feet. She was in a pink bodysuit with platform heels that elevated her height. "You're delusional. I'm here to entertain you and not listen to you order me around." "Feisty. It never ends well. You're perfect for the job." He sat at the edge of the bed and loosened his tie. "What job?" "I'm offering you a job." He smirked. "I don't want one. Especially not from you. I'm not about to subscribe to be your slave, thank you." He chuckled at her words. "This is the thing about you paupers. You're always so proud. Of what exactly? No one knows." He snickered. She kissed her teeth. She'd heard enough. "I'm done here." "You can't be. I'm not done with you, yet." "Well, I am." She was just about to leave when his words halted her. "Don't you want to hear my proposal at least?" He rose to his feet and walked towards her. "I don't. I do not have any intention of working with you." She backed off and let her hands graze the doorknob. "Okay then. Even if it will cost you the opportunity of earning a million dollars? Right." He tsked and walked back to the armchair. She turned to him. "A what? I don't believe you." He chuckled. "Then don't. You can leave by the way." He told her but she didn't budge. If anything, she was more interested. "What kind of job is it? What sort of job will make you pay me such an amount?" He chuckled. "A job that will hand me the keys to my dynasty. You have nothing to worry about." "I am not a s*x worker." She stated plainly and he chuckled. "What could I possibly want from your body?" He laughed the idea off. She rolled her eyes. Typical brat. "What is it then?" "I want you as my fiancée." She stared deep into his eyes before giving a hearty laugh. "Your what? So you're paying me to be your fiancée? Funny what the rich can do." "It's not funny. I need a fiancée. You need the money. Why can't we help each other out?" "What on earth makes you think I need the money, Sire?" He relaxed his back on the armchair. "For starters, you made it clear that you strip for the money. You probably have a dying relation or you need to buy a car or rent a house." He stated and she choked. "Are you okay? So what is it?" "I do need the money. But your fiancée?" "It's all fake. We'll break it off once I get what I want. Until then, we pretend we're too irritating lovebirds who can't get enough of each other." "For how long?" She crossed her arms around her breast. "Six months max." "Wow. You think we'd be able to pull it off that long?" "I know so. So are you in?" "No. I'm sorry, I can't." "Why? I thought we just discussed everything?" He asked, raising his voice a bit. "We did but I'm not interested. If you'll excuse me." She said before walking out of the room. As she walked down the hallway, all that kept ringing in her mind was their conversation. A million dollars. A million dollars. A million dollars. A million dollars for six months. A million dollars for six months. She just couldn't.
