The Demon King's Property

As Aria finished signing the contract, Kael's eyes gleamed with satisfaction. "Excellent," he said. "You are now mine, Aria. Come and see for yourself what your new life will be like." With that, Kael reached out and grasped Aria's hand. The world around her began to blur and distort, and Aria felt herself being pulled through space and time. When they finally stopped moving, Aria found herself standing in a grand, opulent throne room. The room was filled with strange and exotic creatures, all of whom seemed to be watching her with interest. Aria's eyes widened as she took in the grandeur of the demon kingdom. She had never seen anything like it before. "Welcome to my realm, Aria," Kael said, his voice low and smooth. "You will be staying here with me... as my servant." Aria's heart sank as she looked around the room. She knew that she had to be careful, or she would lose herself in this strange new world. Kael turned to leave, and Aria followed him, her heart pounding in her chest. "Where are we going?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "We're going to your new quarters," Kael replied, his voice low and smooth. "You'll be staying in the palace, where I can keep an eye on you." Aria's heart sank as she followed Kael through the winding corridors of the palace. The air was thick with the scent of old stone and dust, and the flickering torches cast eerie shadows on the walls. As they walked, a peregrine falcon flew toward Kael's shoulder, its piercing cry echoing through the hallway. The falcon settled onto Kael's arm, its sharp talons digging into the leather cuff that protected his forearm. Kael stroked the falcon's feathers, his eyes gleaming with affection. "Ah, Xandros," he said, his voice softening. "This is Aria, my new... servant. Be gentle with her." The falcon's piercing gaze fixed on Aria, and for a moment, she felt like the bird could see right through her. She shivered, despite herself. "Don't worry, Xandros won't hurt you," Kael said, his voice low and smooth. "Unless, of course, I tell him to." Aria's eyes flicked up to Kael's face, but his expression was unreadable. She wondered if he was joking or not. As they continued down the corridor, Aria couldn't help but notice the intricate carvings on the walls. They seemed to depict scenes of great battles and powerful magic. She wondered what stories they told, and what secrets the palace held. The corridor eventually led them to a large wooden door, adorned with intricate locks and symbols of dark magic. Kael pushed the door open, revealing a spacious bedroom with a large four-poster bed. "This will be your quarters," Kael said, his voice firm. "You'll find everything you need here. Clothes, books, amenities... You're welcome to explore the palace, but I warn you, Aria, don't try to leave. The consequences would be... severe." Aria's eyes scanned the room, taking in the opulent furnishings and the large windows that looked out onto a dark, moonless night. She knew that she was trapped, at least for now. "I understand," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Kael's eyes gleamed with satisfaction. "Good. I'll leave you to settle in. You have a lot to learn, Aria. And I'm looking forward to teaching you." With that, he turned and left the room, Xandros flying off his shoulder with a soft cry. Aria watched him go, feeling a sense of unease settle over her. She knew that she had to be careful, or she would lose herself in this strange and terrifying world.
