**Kael POV:...** I stood at the window of my chambers,as he fully absorbed the Embery(a dark shadow that eat of from human fears) "ooh, how I miss the complete me"I soliloquies as twisted my hands in amazement of the powers I possessed as I gazing out at the sprawling city below. The demon realm was a place of darkness and shadow, where the strong ruled and the weak cowered. But it was my domain, and I would stop at nothing to protect it. A knock at the door broke the silence. One of my guards entered, bowing low. "Your Majesty, the human, Lyra, has awakened." Giving her the Embery and taking it from her took a better part of her. But what do I really care about that, I send her and her sister immediately am fine with them. I rule with iron steel heart and anything that will protect me and my kingdom I do it by all means, even if it is seem like betrayer. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. The human was proving to be more resilient than I'd expected. "See to it that she's well cared for," I said. "I want her healthy and strong." As I turned away from the window, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes seemed darker than usual, my features sharper. I was the demon king, feared throughout the realms. I wouldn't let anyone or anything threaten my power. I strode out of my chambers. Meanwhile, Lyra's struggles continued. Xandros's words echoed in her mind, "You're not going anywhere until you're well enough". I pushed open the door to her chambers, and Xandros looked up from his post beside her bed. "Your Majesty," he said, his voice low. I nodded, my eyes fixed on Lyra. She was sleeping, her chest rising and falling with shallow breaths. I felt a pang of...something. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't like it. "Keep her safe," I said to Xandros, my voice gruff. "I don't want anything to happen to her." Xandros raised an eyebrow but said nothing. I turned and left, not wanting to examine my motivations too closely. Lyra's eyes flickered open, and she looked around, taking in her surroundings. She was in a bed, in a room that was unfamiliar. And then she saw Xandros, standing guard beside her bed. "Where am I?" she demanded, her voice weak but fierce. That was the only first word, she felt she could understand herself say. Xandros's expression didn't change. "You're in the demon king's palace," he said. "You're safe here." Lyra's eyes narrowed. "demon king's palace?"she asked shock "how did I get here and where is my sister Aria" "she safe waiting and hoping for you to recover quickly"xandros muttered"you need more rest if you keep taking your tonic, you be better in know time" I looked at her as xandros assured her safety, wondering what she would say if she knew I was standing right behind her. But for now, I kept my presence hidden, watching and waiting.
