LLEWELLYN HAD FINALLY returned, but he was minus any good news, which didn't altogether surprise Rafferty. Timothy Melville-Briggs was out of the running—not that he'd ever really been in. And, needless to say, no-one at Sir Anthony's London consulting-rooms had recognised the girl in the photo-fit picture. Still, Rafferty consoled himself, that didn't necessarily prove anything.
