Chapter 4
"I can confirm that Lina is indeed pregnant. She's approximately three months along."
Isabella's anger flared once again, her voice sharp and accusatory.
"And who is the father?" she demanded, her eyes locked onto Lina's.
Lina remained silent, her throat constricted with fear and shame. She couldn't bring herself to utter a name, knowing the storm it would unleash.
Isabella's disappointment was palpable as she clenched her fists. "Fine, if you're not willing to speak up, then we'll discuss this further when we get home."
The ride back home was filled with tense silence; both women were lost in their thoughts. Lina stared out the window, her mind a whirlwind of emotions and unanswered questions.
They arrived back at the house, and Isabella's anger simmered just beneath the surface. Lina stepped out of the car, her heart heavy with guilt and regret.
She followed Isabella into the house, the weight of her sister's disappointment almost suffocating her.
As they entered the living room, Isabella turned to face Lina, her voice strained but filled with concern. "Lina, we need to talk.
No more secrets, no more hiding. We're in this together, and we'll figure out the best way to support you and the baby."
Lina remained speechless, her eyes brimming with tears. She realized that the journey ahead would be filled with challenges and difficult conversations, but she also understood that her life was at stake.
She stepped into the room and began to ponder deeply. The following morning,Isabella was pacing back and forth in the living room, her anger intensifying with each step.
She glared at Lina, her eyes filled with accusation. Luke, Isabella's son, was standing nearby, his arms crossed and a sneer on his face.
"How could you do this, Lina?" Isabella hissed, her voice laced with venom.
"You've brought shame to our family with your recklessness. Who is the father of this child?"
Lina's heart sank as she tried to find the words to defend herself, but the weight of their accusations left her speechless.
She looked down, her eyes welling up with tears, unable to meet their piercing gazes.
Just then, Mr. Lugard, Isabella's husband, entered the room, his expression stern and disapproving.
He cast a cold glance at Lina and joined the conversation, his voice filled with condemnation.
"I trusted you, Lina," Mr. Lugard said, his tone icy.
"You were like a daughter to me, and this is how you repay your kindness."
"Who is responsible for this shame?"
Lina's mouth went dry, and her heart raced with fear. She knew revealing the truth would only lead to more turmoil and judgment.
The weight of their accusations felt unbearable, and she found herself unable to form any coherent response.
Isabella's face twisted with anger, her voice rising to a crescendo.
"You can't even admit to your mistake? You've brought disgrace upon our family, and you can't even own up to it?
Answer me, Lina! Who is the father?"
Silence hung heavily in the room as Lina's tears spilled over, her voice barely a whisper. "I... I can't say."
The room fell into stunned silence as Isabella, Luke, and Mr. Lugard stared at Lina in disbelief. The accusation hung in the air, unanswered and shrouded in secrecy.
Isabella's rage boiled over as she pointed a finger at Lina.
"You dare to bring this into our home and refuse to provide an answer? You're nothing but a disgrace!"
Luke, fueled by his mother's anger, chimed in with mocking laughter.
"Look at you, unable to face the truth. You're just a pathetic girl who got herself knocked up and can't even handle the consequences."
Lina's heart shattered with each word, the weight of their scorn crushing her spirit.
She knew the truth, but revealing it would only bring more pain and judgment upon her.
As the accusations continued to fly, Lina felt like a trapped animal, suffocated by their anger and disappointment.
The room spun around her, and she longed for an escape from the harsh reality that now surrounded her.
Like joining the conversation, They were not on good terms; they were always arguing. Even before she became pregnant, they were not getting along.
In the afternoon, He changed his mind about Lina. He was searching for a way to get her out of the house.
He marched into the living room, his face red with rage. He pointed an accusing finger at Lina, his voice full of disdain.
"I can't believe this! How could you do this, Lina? You've brought nothing but trouble to our family!"
Lina flinched at his harsh words, her eyes filling with tears. She had expected Luke's response to be less than welcoming, but his hostility still hurt her deeply.
She mustered up the courage to speak, her voice trembling. "Luke, please try to understand. I never wanted any of this to happen. I'm scared
Luke scoffed, his voice dripping with contempt.
"Scared?
You think that excuses everything?
You've always been nothing but trouble. And now you're pregnant, dragging us all down with you!"
Isabella, unable to contain her emotions any longer, stepped forward, her eyes filled with a mix of anger and sorrow.
"Luke, that's enough!
This is not the time to point fingers and assign blame. Lina needs our support, whether you like it or not.
Prince, Luke's younger brother, stepped in, placing a gentle hand on Isabella's shoulder. "Isabella, let me handle this.
Luke, please take a deep breath and take Mom inside. We need to have a conversation, but it won't help if we're all shouting at each other."
Luke's initial defiance softened slightly as he looked into Prince's eyes. Reluctantly, he nodded and turned to lead Isabella back into the house, their voices fading as they moved away.
Lina and Prince were left alone in the quietness of the living room. Prince approached her, his expression full of compassion.
He reached out to gently touch her arm, his voice gentle.
"Lina, I know Luke's reaction was tough, but deep down, he cares about our family. He's just scared and unsure how to handle this."
Tears streamed down Lina's face as she nodded, grateful for Prince's understanding.
"I never wanted any of this to happen, Prince. I never meant to cause so much pain and discord within the family."
Prince gave her a reassuring smile, his voice filled with empathy.
"I believe you, Lina. We're going to get through this together. Right now, let's focus on finding a way to support you and the baby.
We'll face the challenges head-on and prove that love and unity can prevail."
Lina let out a shaky breath, feeling a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos. With Prince by her side, she knew she had an ally—someone who believed in her and was willing to stand up for her.
As they walked back into her room, hand in hand, Lina felt a sense of determination wash over her.
She knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but with Prince's support and the love of her family, she had the strength to face whatever challenges lay in her path
For months, Lina had been struggling with depression and family issues due to her pregnancy.
She was no longer able to go to work, and instead spent her days at home feeling down, especially when she brought out Ramon's gold chain to remind her of the event that had caused her situation.
Luke had been looking at her with disdain. Whenever she made a mistake, he would berate her in front of the family.
She had no other option but to accept her destiny and continue with the circumstances.
After nine months of pregnancy, she began to feel something different.
Her body contorted in pain as the waves of contractions surged through her.
She gripped the edge of the kitchen counter, her knuckles turning white, while beads of sweat formed on her forehead.
The pain was unbearable, and she could feel her body working tirelessly to bring new life into the world.
Isabella, who had been keeping a watchful eye on her since the morning, rushed to her side.
She could see the anguish on her face and the beads of sweat dripping down her brow.
Panic filled Isabella's heart as she realized that the time had come.
"Lina! It's time.
