Sarah stared at the figure before her, unable to speak. The woman looked at her with a serene expression on her face.
"I am the Guardian of this realm," the woman said, "and I am here to help you. But first, you must tell me how you came to be here."
Sarah swallowed, her throat dry. She told the woman everything that had happened, from the letter she had received to her arrival in the forest. As she spoke, the woman's expression remained unchanged, her violet eyes fixed on Sarah's face.
When Sarah had finished her story, the woman nodded slowly. "You have been brought here for a reason," she said. "You have a great power within you, and you must learn to use it if you are to save your friends."
Sarah blinked, her mind reeling. "I have power?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "What kind of power?"
The woman's lips curved into a small smile. "The kind of power that can change the world," she said.
The woman gestured to a nearby tree, and it began to glow with a soft, golden light. The light began to swirl and move, forming into the shape of a door.
"This door will take you to your first lesson," the woman said. "Are you ready?"
Sarah hesitated, but she knew she had no choice. She took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes," she said. "I'm ready."
The woman smiled again. "Then follow me," she said, and she stepped through the glowing door.
Sarah took one last look around the forest before following her into the unknown.
The world beyond the door was unlike anything Sarah had ever seen. She stood in a vast, open space, surrounded by shimmering light. In the distance, she could see mountains, forests, and rivers, all bathed in the same glowing light.
She turned to the woman, who was standing beside her. "Where are we?" she asked, her voice filled with awe.
"We are in the Realm of Magi," the woman said. "This is the place where magic is created and learned. It is a place of great power, and great danger."
"It is, indeed," the woman said, her voice tinged with pride. "But our time here is limited. We must begin your first lesson."
She led Sarah to a nearby clearing, where a small circle of stones was arranged in the center. The stones were covered in intricate patterns, and they seemed to pulse with energy.
"What is this place?" Sarah asked, her eyes wide.
"This is the Circle of Learning," the woman said. "Here, you will learn to control your power and use it for good."
"To begin, I need you to clear your mind and focus your thoughts," the woman said. "Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Allow your mind to empty of all thoughts and worries."
Sarah did as she was told, closing her eyes and breathing slowly. She felt the tension draining from her body, and her mind began to settle. The world around her faded away, and all she could hear was the sound of her own breath.
