A Dark Blood Assassin

Chapter Two

Alexa was the first daughter of the High priestess Irati, from the Echo Mountains. As her mother, She had auburn hair, hazel eyes and a pale skin, She was tall and slim. At her 20s She was destined to be the High priestess as her mother when She finished her studies.  Irati was ascended many years ago when her predecessor, Nur, retired to the mountains.  Usually, the High Priestess title was passed from mother to daughter unless there was not any female descendant to heir it, then it was given to the closest priestess.  It was a duty that they could refuse or resign any moment but They couldn't claim for themselves. The Echo Mountains were a very magic and sacred place, many of the people who lived there was dedicated to magic and healing.  But the High priestesses received a very special and powerful magic during the ascending ceremony.

Alexa was learning how to heal, She was doing it great but there was a few things She needed to learn outside, as poisoning and curses.  That's why She decided to travel away, to the Sanctuary and to study with them about poisons, They were very known by their expertise.

It was expected Alexa married Nur's great son, Selik, after returning from their visit to Sanctuary. They had been too close each other during her entire life, he was 5 years older than her.

Alexa was walking in the gardens outside Sanctuary, it was a very hot day and the flowers were blooming everywhere.  She was dressed with her usual clothes: a very light white linen tunic, folded around her body, with her back uncovered and tied on her neck.  Because of the heat she wasn't wearing the mantle to cover her shoulders so her back, arms and shoulders was fully exposed. Her hair was tied on a single and long braid.  Since She wasn't there as a priestess but as a apprentice, She wasn't wearing any jewelry to identify her as one.

The gardens were a very big area in the woods full of bushes, plants and trees with a few fountains and a small river.  There was a few closed places, forbidden for most of people but She had been authorized to go anywhere She wanted.  The place was so beautiful as deadly, it was full of poisonous plants and a few that could be used as antidote.

Alexa couldn't stand at the heat anymore and went to the river to refresh herself, She dived into the water with her clothes on, enjoying the cold water.  A few minutes later She continued looking for plants and leaves when She found a small garden, surrounded by high bushes and a gate. She walked in to find it was the most exuberant garden in the whole place, crowded with big and colorful flowers hanging from the trees and bushes and a very small shelter.

-I could kill You just for being here without my permission -Said a voice behind her, it was the most seductive and deadly voice She had ever heard, so soft that went through her skin shaking her and scaring her; it took her breath out of her body.  She closed her eyes to calm herself and took a deep breath, then She turned around to look at the one who was talking to her. He was perfect, with those mesmerizing blue eyes, his tanned skin, his black hair and that grimace.

Darius was enjoying, more than He should,  the view of that girl with perfect skin in clothes so wet that allowed him to see her own entire body.  She was in a forbidden place, his own private place where He used to make his poisons and potions. Nobody could go inside unless He allowed it and there She was, staring at him, doing another forbidden thing for the women in Sanctuary.

-I'm allowed to be in any place of this wood -Alexa said staring at him, something was telling her to be careful because that guy would really hurt her.

-Not in my own private place -Said Darius approaching to her and taking her wrist forcing her to turn around, moving his other hand around her waist while pressing her against his erection -Unless You want to serve me in exchange of a few minutes in this place -He moved her hand until reach one of her breasts, it was firm and hard. She was shivering between his arms and He could feel her accelerated heart and breathing, He knew She wasn't faking it, She really wanted him and that made him get harder.

Suddenly She turned over, her face was blushed,  She kicked him between his legs and ran away. But it wasn't enough, Darius was faster, after all it was part of his training. He graved her by her hand and pulled her back into his arms -Don't You dare to do that again girl, I could kill You right now just for looking at me -Darius said while He was touching her throat with a Knife, -If I kill You right now nobody will ever know what did happen to You, They will never find your body. And if They do, They won't blame me -Then He took her hand and put it over his erection. -So, what is going to be your choose?

She was shaking, staring at him, her heart was beating so fast that it could blow out of her chest in any moment. This guy was dangerous, lethal and was making her feel things that She never felt before, but She wasn't going to allow him know the things He was doing to her body and mind. And He was crazy if He expected her to surrender so easily -Release me -Alexa looked into his eyes, shortened the distance between their lips at the same time the knife cut a bit through her skin and her own blood started to fall from her neck reaching her dress. -I'm not one of your Sanctuary's whores, I'm Alexa Windsteam, future High Priestess of Echo Mountains and I'm not afraid of You. So, if You want to take me or to take my life then do it now and face the consequences of breaking your oat or leave me alone.

He stared at her for a few more seconds, inhaling her scent; She was right, if She was who She claimed then He would be breaking the oat He made many years ago of protecting the Echo Mountains' High Priestess. He softened the pressure on her hand and released her slowly,  He took a leaf of a nearest tree and handled it to her -Put this in your skin or you would get really dizzy and paralyzed in a few minutes- then He walked away, leaving her alone into the garden.

Four hours later Alexa reached Sanctuary, her white clothes were a total mess, She was dizzy and the dried blood was over her throat.  A couple girls ran through her direction -High priestess, are You fine?, Did someone attacked You? -They asked to her.

-I did this by myself  -She Answered.  -I didn't notice the danger until it was too late and ended up with this. But I'm perfectly fine right now.

A very bad mood Darius got close to them.

-Sir -The girls said again, while stepping aside and taking her faces down. Darius ignored them.

-So, this is the priestess You were looking for last 2 hours? It seems She got poisoned.  -Said Darius

-Oh, yes.  It was a very small stick with a bit of poison, if You ask.  Who would believe something so small would be so dangerous -She replied, smiling.

Darius got close to her and whispered into her ear -When You wish my dear, I'm gonna show You how small is that stick and You will scream my name so loud that They will hear You in the Echo Mountains. And You will beg me for more, You can be sure. -He couldn't believe He said that, put to Sher blushing face was priceless.

Alexa blushed and stared at him, couldn't say any word, then She went into the building, looking for her bedroom.  When She reached it fell over her bed, shaking.
