The day after Christmas, Jay and I were at the pavilion above Keikikai and Nalupuki beaches. Jay was showing-off his Christmas present. No Blalahs in sight.
“That’s your old board, Jay?” Char Siu asked.
“Yeah. Zader did the custom paint, and Lili got me the new leash for Christmas.”
“Wow! Zader did this?” Char Siu ran her finger along the edge.
“Nili-boy and Rad helped,” I said.
“Rad? The old haole guy from Lauele Surf?” Frankie asked.
“Yeah. They filled the dings and shot the clear coat.”
“But the art’s yours,” said Char Siu. “Sharp.”
