I regretted every life decision I had ever made. Every. Single. One.
Especially the decision to drink free alcohol. My head felt like someone had invited a marching band to perform inside my skull. I groaned and dragged myself out of bed. The memories from last night came back one by one.
Meeting Mr. Moretti. Learning about my grandfather. Getting drunk. Unfortunately, getting rescued by Wyne. Very unfortunately.
And then... The image of him standing in front of that door. My stomach twisted. Thankfully I had woken up before anything happened and he got too curious and found out my truth... I rubbed my face.
"Okay. Take a deep breath, Maddy.... Everything is fine. Nothing happened. Nobody knew anything. Life could continue normally."
