Uncontrollable fond

CHAPTER ONE: THE MEETING

“I’d assume you’ve gotten everything in order for the annual shareholder meeting ?” Questioned victor

“Yes sir , everyone is already gathered in the meeting room waiting for you . “ answered Selina who was walking right next to Victor holding a laptop and a paper folder .

The formal wear mixed with a serious attitude presented an official feeling .

Selina was well dressed and very prepared since she was going to be right next to his boss victor during the whole meeting .

As victor walked towards the meeting room , everyone he came across bowed down in respect as they passed through him . You could tell he was well respected and of course scared by the whole office . Everyone stood up as he sat on his chair being able to see everyone present in the room .

“ shall we begin !” Victor said More of a command than a question . Selina opened a file just in front of victor on the table , as victor gave a cue to a man sitting on his left hand side to begin the presentation .

“I’ll present the financial strategies planned during our last annual meetings and how they were implemented .” The man begun as he cleared his throat.

“ we were able to reduce our expenditures by 30.8% last month . ……” the man continued

“ The financial plans we had at our last meeting were achieved by 90% it’s not a percent score but am sure we are working towards it ”

Selina was already lost in her daydream thoughts . The man’s voice began to fade from her ears slowly . She was definitely reminiscing about the spicy last night she had at victor's apartment . Thinking that it was too rude for her to refuse the breakfast offered to her by victor . Or it was maybe too rude for her to act like nothing happened between them . You could tell she was lost in her thoughts by the way she started smiling while biting her pen that she held in her hand instead of actual noting down the important points in the meeting .

“ so Selina , could you tell us about any reports on why the south branch reduced their orders this months compared to the past four months ?”

“ Selina ! SELINA! SELINA!” , “yes ,YES boss “ Selina answered with a stammering voice while immediately standing up from her seat .

“ am sorry sir , I have a little bit of headache today but hmm I agree with what has been said and note down everything important . Selina explained she saving herself from the wolf's den .

Everyone stared at her because it was so unusual for her to have her mind out of the meeting . She was always punctual on anything said and noted down everything perfectly.

“ s**t , what a shame ! If he asks me one more question , I am dead . Please heavens save me ! “ Selina thought . A thin layer of sweat was rolling down her face makeup . Knowing that she was going to be in dead trouble if she was asked anything about the last presentation . As she was staring at victor ,

“ I asked about the reports, not a comment on what has been going on . Are you sure you're okay because.. ”

Victor was interrupted by a phone call in his pocket . He took the phone out and picked it up

“ Excuse me ..” he said to the other board members as he was speaking with a low tone to the person on the other side of the phone.

The room was filled with awkwardness for a while . A member who was sitting next to Selina asked her

“ Are you sure you're okay ? You were completely lost during the meeting. Mr. Victor had been staring at you for a while before calling you . He called you three times ! I wonder why he isn't mad at you anyway. He could have been furious if it were someone else . You two must really be getting along . ”
