She slipped backward on the wet marble.
A tall figure stormed inside.
Male. Huge. Drenched in black.
Her heart nearly stopped. “ARE YOU INSANE?!”
She shouted, instantly covering herself with both arms but it was only useless
“GET OUT!”
Then she recognized him.
Konstantin Volkov.
“What are you doing here?! My father will hear this!” She yelled
Her hands scrambled for a towel…for anything…nothing was close
“f*ck”
She turned away quickly and hid , furious and embarrassed at the same time.
Konstantin didn’t look away out of urgency.
His voice was sharp. “Get out of the shower. Now.”
“What?!” she snapped, still backing away, dripping water everywhere. “Who do you think you are?!”
His jaw tightened. “Now, Anya.”
“No!” She snapped immediately. “I’m naked, psycho! Get out!”
His eyes flicked once toward the hallway behind him. Then back to her.
“Anya,” he said coldly, “if you don’t move right now, I’ll drag you out myself.”
She blinked. “Excuse me?”
“I’m coming in.” Konstantin moved instantly. Straight toward her.
Her eyes widened. “Oh my God—DON’T YOU DARE—”
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of the shower.
She shrieked. “Konstantin!”
Water splashed as she stumbled against him, completely mortified
Konstantin Volkov didn’t slow down.
Her feet slipped on the polished floor as she tried to resist again.
“You can’t just walk in here and—listen to me! I said I need clothes! I need answers! Most especially I need your eyes closed!”
He quickly pulled off his shirt and threw it toward her before immediately turning his face away.
“Put this on. Fast. My eyes are closed.”
She stared at the shirt. Then at him. Then back at the shirt. “Ew.”
His expression darkened. “Anya.”
“I’m not wearing your sweaty—”
He stepped closer.
She shut up immediately. Not because she got scared. Absolutely not.
Mostly because he was shirtless, and unfortunately—
Her eyes betrayed her instantly.
Broad chest. Tattooed skin. Muscles flexing as he snatched the shirt from her.
He pulled her closer and forcefully shoved her arms through the sleeves.
The fabric swallowed her whole
Her throat suddenly felt dry.
Anya’s mouth fell open slightly as his fingers accidentally brushed against her bare breast while fastening the buttons.
A sudden jolt of adrenaline shot through her body as hot liquid dripped between her thighs. Her big blue eyes widened, her breath hitched.
Konstantin noticed it, but didn’t spare her a glance.
For a split second, her mind went blank—Then she forced herself back into focus.
“Anya, control yourself,” she thought but her body didn't listen.
“Move,” he said emotionlessly.
She snapped back instantly, finally closing her mouth…
Steadying herself—“I’m not moving anywhere with you until you tell me what’s going on!”
Konstantin closed his grip on her wrist and pulled her forward anyway.
Anya stumbled, nearly losing her balance as she was forced into motion.
“Hey—!” she shouted, furious now. “Are you deaf?! I said I’m not going—!”
He turned sharply into the hallway, dragging her with him without breaking stride.
Her protest cracked behind him, louder now, more desperate than angry. “What is wrong with you?!”
Another distant gunshot echoed through the mansion. Closer this time.
Only then did Anya freeze.
Fear crawled slowly into her stomach “W-what was that?”
He didn't answer. He simply pulled her forward again, faster now.
Voices echoed somewhere downstairs.
Male voices. Shouting.
Konstantin’s expression changed instantly.
His hand tightened around her wrist as he dragged her toward the hallway.
Anya stumbled after him angrily. “Stop pulling me! I can walk perfectly fine on my own!”
He frowned slightly.
“Why did you kidnapped me OUT OF MY SHOWER!”
“Be quiet” He gasped in outrage.
Then another loud crash exploded downstairs.
Glass shattered. Another scream echoed.
He calculated exits instantly. “East corridor compromised. Main staircase unsafe. Hidden elevator maybe accessible—”
Then footsteps echoed ahead of them.
Three men rounded the corner holding rifles. Their eyes met simultaneously.
One of them smiled beneath his mask. “There she is.”
Anya gasped softly behind Konstantin.
He pushed her backward immediately. “Run.”
“What?!”
“I said run. I’ll be right behind you.”
Anya hesitated for half a second—then bolted.
Behind her, Konstantin turned, slamming into cover as gunfire erupted through the corridor.
“Anya, down!” he barked.
She ducked too late, stumbling as a shot cracked past.
“Konstantin—!” she screamed.
He fired.
One of the men dropped immediately.
Another shot rang out—
The second attacker folded over, clutching his stomach as blood poured through his fingers.
“GET HER!” he screamed with his last strength.
The final man charged straight toward Anya.
She screamed again in panic. “AH—!”
Konstantin didn’t hesitate.
Another shot.
The attacker dropped mid-step.
Silence snapped in for half a second.
Then more footsteps.
Konstantin turned sharply, firing again without warning.
“You suckers!” he barked.
Bodies hit the marble floor one by one.
Anya was shaking violently behind him. “I— I can’t—!”
“Stay behind me,” he cut in coldly.
More men appeared at the end of the hallway. “Don’t let them escape!”
Konstantin clicked his jaw. “Tch.”
He grabbed Anya’s arm again. “This way.”
She resisted slightly. “There’s no way out—”
A loud burst of gunfire cut her off. She flinched hard.
Footsteps behind them grew louder.
Anya was breathing too fast. “We’re going to die— we’re going to—”
“No,” Konstantin said flatly. “We’re not.”
They reached a dead end; A tall window.
Anya froze. “No. No, no, no–”
A single shot—CRACK. Glass exploded outward.
Cold night air rushed into the corridor.
She looked down.
The main road stretched far below—cars moving, headlights cutting through the night.
“Oh my—no, no, no—”
Konstantin grabbed her without hesitation.
Anya screamed “Konstantin—WAIT—!”
Too late.
He pulled her tight against his chest, one arm locked firmly around her waist.
“Hold on.” He jumped.
Wind whipped past them as they dropped.
“AAAAAAHHH!!!!” Anya's scream tore through the air.
“Don’t look down,” he said calmly.
“I AM LOOKING DOWN!”
Wind slammed into her as the world dropped beneath them.
Anya clung to him instantly, her hair whipping wildly around her face..
“I HATE THIS! I HATE THIS—!”
Konstantin landed hard on the opposite balcony—boots hitting stone with force, knees bending to absorb impact.
No hesitation. No pause.
“Next,” he said
Gunfire cracked above them.
He moved fast–
Anya gasped. “OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!”
Konstantin adjusted his grip. “Stay quiet.”
“I CAN’T BE QUIET—I’M FALLING THROUGH A FOUR STOREY BUILDING!”
Another window was already ahead.
He stepped again.
Another jump. Another shot—
A bullet hit the wall beside them
Anya screamed into his chest. “AAAAAAAA—!”
They hit the next ledge. Glass cracked under his boots.
He glanced down once at the main road below.
He pulled her closer again. Then he moved again toward the final drop.
The main road was directly beneath them now.
Headlights moving. A bus was cutting across the road directly in front of the building, close enough to reach the curb in seconds.
Her breath caught. “We’re going to get hit by a bus!”
Konstantin saw it too, but he didn't stop.
Before she could even react, he pulled her forward..and jumped.
Anya barely had time to scream before the world tilted again—
And instead of asphalt, they landed hard on the roof of the moving bus.
Metal shook beneath them.
Anya nearly slipped immediately. “AHHH!”
Konstantin grabbed her arm instantly, locking her in place. “Stay still.”
The bus swerved slightly, horns blaring from cars around it.
Inside, passengers shouted, confused.
Anya was shaking violently.
A sharp jolt hit as the bus accelerated.
Anya lost her balance again, she grabbed Konstantin’s neck with both hands. “What do we do now?!”
Without a word, he pulled her again and jumped off the moving bus as it crossed the bridge line direction.
“WATCH IT!” a driver shouted as tires screeched across asphalt.
Anya’s legs gave out immediately as she stumbled and collapsed onto the road.
“My legs…my leg—” She cried in pain.
Konstantin didn’t even glance at her.
He grabbed her arm mid-fall and hauled her back up as if she weighed nothing.
She barely found her balance before he was already moving again, dragging her forward.
His hand went to his earpiece. “Vasilisa!”
A black SUV screeched to the curb.
Door opened instantly. “Boss!”
Konstantin shoved Anya inside.
Anya collapsed into the seat. “I hate this. I hate ALL of this.”
Konstantin got in after her. “Drive.”
Vasilisa’s hand hovered.
“Now?”
“Yes.”
The engine roared.
Then Konstantin’s voice cut again. “Hold.”
Vasilisa glanced back. “What?”
Konstantin scanned the car. “Everyone here?”
Mark looked around quickly. “Um…”
Konstantin’s eyes narrowed immediately.
Mark's eyes widened. “Mikhail isn’t here!”
Konstantin clicked his tongue. “Tch.”
Then— “WAIT!”
A figure burst through speeding traffic, dodging moving vehicles as he sprinted toward the SUV.
Blood on his face.
“DON’T LEAVE ME!”
“He’s coming!” Vasilisa shouted
Konstantin opened the door slightly. “Hurry.”
Mikhail lunged into the moving car. “GO—GO—GO!”
Vasilisa slammed the accelerator. The SUV sped off into the night.
Anya collapsed back.
Mikhail, breathing hard, wiped his face.
Konstantin’s voice steadied, returning to its usual calm.
“Let me call Big boss and inform him his daughter is save”
Anya stretched out her hand, reaching for the phone in his grip.
“Give it to me. I want to talk to Daddy.”
Konstantin shifted the phone slightly out of reach and gave her a sharp look.
“Are you okay?”
Anya paused instantly at Konstantin’s cold tone.
A small, sharp smile tugged at her lips—more offended than amused.
“Rude.” she scoffed under her breath, withdrawing her hand slowly.
