Mated?

“Mated?” The numbness of the consequences of last night held me in place as Eleanor nodded slowly at me. She didn't look any better and although I had been dealing with the police all night and had no sleep my first thought was to come here and make sure that Eleanor was OK. No that's not true, I wanted to know if she slept well, if she was psychologically affected by last night, if she had nightmares, if she ate anything last night…the list goes on and now on top of that I find out that we are mated? I didn't even know that an Omega could do a mating mark, I thought it was up to the alpha. Goes to show how stupid I am growing up in an Alpha elite family.

“Yes, I don't even know Gage, I'm really sorry. Anders told me that if we wanted to dissolve it then you can get another Omega to mark over the bite I have given you”

The thought of another Omega coming near me made me sick and when I looked at Eleanor she flinched. I must have had a bad expression and I think I leaked a little pheromones in reaction. Woah this Alpha possessiveness is no joke. I reigned myself in and breathed deeply for a few minutes before talking again. Eleanor waited patiently and didn't move, it was like her instincts were screaming at her to keep still in front of a predator. Guilt settled onto my chest at my actions, I had promised myself that no matter what happens I would look after her and help her. I'm not a monster like my father.

“I’m sorry too Eleanor, my instincts are hard to handle,I am learning to get through them and control my Alpha instincts. I hope you can be patient with me?”

She stared at me for a few seconds and then warily nodded. Her eyes looked clouded and tired and I was glad that Anders had insisted that she stay home today. Anders had already informed the police that we were mated and they left it up to Eleanor to have a visit from them or I could take her statement. I was surprised that she chose me to do it.

We had written up the statement on her laptop and sent it off to the police and according to the new laws they wouldn't make Eleanor go to court and face Nav.

Thinking about Nav had started getting my hackles up and i know that I should be controlling myself but that boy nearly caused Eleanor to go into heat and be attacked by the Alphas he had there.

“Let’s try not to think about what happened so much and think about what to do next” Eleanor had already gotten up and put her delicate hand on my shoulder. I felt myself calming down and relaxed as she stayed there standing next to me. My phone started buzzing as hers did at the same time. She smiled down at me and took her phone out.

“It’s Chase” I nodded to her and looked at my phone as it was Chase calling both of us on a group messenger.

We answered and from the look of him I'm surprised he had the strength to call. His face was drawn and paler than usual and his hair looked like it had been through a ringer.

“I heard you've chosen to mate Gage already” Eleanor came to sit next to me and I had the urge to put my arm around her protectively, no, I didn't have the right to do that yet.

“Chase we just learned we were mated too, it was an accident.”

His eyes turned a bright luminous yellow and the snarl was in his words “How the f**k can s*x be an accident?”

Eleanor put her hand over her mouth and I could see the tears in her eyes. Chase, you f*****g i***t. I took the phone off her and put it on the side face down so he could only see me. I went into her bedroom so that I could freely cuss this i***t.

“Chase, there was no s*x, shes a minor you freak. She got into a situation last night and she tried calling you but you didn't answer, I was only available so i helped her. She bit me when I was nearly killing a guy to stop me from making a mistake. That apparently makes a mating mark”

“Get another Omega to bite over it, shes mine you fucker” I could see that he was wearing the same clothes as yesterday and the gauntness of his face was severe. This was bad. Chase would normally have been all about Eleanor's safety and would have asked if she was OK. He would never react like this even with his worst Alpha instincts. He's going savage.

“Chase? Where are you?”

“What's it to you?”

“I'll come to you”

“You want to fight me for her?”

“Sure, why not. Where are you Chase?”

“I'm back in my room now, I have to get rid of something irritating first. I could hear giggling in the background and I surmised what he had been up to. I'm going to have to tranquilise him and find him an Omega stage 3 to mate him or he will have to be put down. I Couldn't believe this. It feels like my life is full of chaos.

“OK, I'll be there in ten minutes, don't go anywhere”

He hung up and I quickly ran out of the room. Eleanor had cleaned her face of the tears and I put my hand on her shoulder this time. “I have to go to him, are you OK?”

“Yeah, he looks really ill”

“I'll try my best, i'll see you later”

She nodded and leaned into me, I felt the calming pheromones come from her and it cleared my head and helped me focus a little. So this is what its like having an Omega as your mate.

"Get out" Chase coldly told the two girls that were hurriedly dressing as I walked in while on the phone with the Dean. I had made arrangements to d**g and restrain Chase while transferring the Omega that was miles away to be here by tomorrow.

"You want to fight now?" He got up pulling his tracksuit bottoms so that they rested on his hips. The girls rushed past me and I caught one of them by the elbow before she could escape.

"Get you and your friend pregnancy tests in a few days. The Dean will set everything up for you" She nodded and I let her go while my gaze followed Chase pacing around the room. Usually Dominants go vicious over a matter of months, this was only held off by Omega level three's so why didn't Eleanor's pheromones help him?

Chase was at the point of growling under his breath and I hoped that the suppression team would be here soon. I didn't respond when he snarled at me and moved to the corner of the room noiselessly. My phone vibrated and I quickly scanned the message which said they were nearly here. Goddammit, why did this have to happen to him, he's a good guy, he's no different to me. If he doesn't take to rhe new Omega then he will end up losing his life. It was like putting a dog down with rabies except this was a functional human being with hopes and dreams!

"El's was mine, you said she was mine! You f*****g lied and went behind my back you bastard" his shoulders were hunched forward as he panted heavily and I gripped the phone on my side, if I have to ill use the corner of my phone to slam it into his temple, that's the only conclusion I can come up with to knock him out quickly. He ran forward and instepped to the side of his bed and lowered myself into a half crouching position and reached my hands out to grab his waist. His body flew with the momentum that I started with my own weight and he landed on the bed. Before I could put my plan into action he slammed his foot into my shoulder and I toppled backwards. I couldn't bridge my body to flip back up as he had already landed on top of me. His breath stank of beer and cigarettes and I grabbed him under the armpits to turn him over so that I was on top of him. I held my forearm under his chin as I squeezed my knee into his solar plexus to steady myself so that I was more upright and not at a disadvantage. His face was going paler and I knew that I had to release before I ended up going through his ribcage.

The sound of heavy footsteps was like heaven to me as voices surrounded me and an injection was put into his neck. He went limp immediately and I jumped off him, afraid that I had hurt him.

"It's over now son, you did well, we will have the Omega here tomorrow morning, let's hope this can work out for them" I backed off a bit more to feel the wall behind me and felt the warmth of my tears falling. This could of been me. Why wasn't it me? Why did everuth8ng happen the way it did? Why didn't Chase pick up the f*****g phone and answer Eleanor? When did he start to go savage? Why was his symptoms escalated?
