I didn't hesitate as I lifted my leg and used the heel of my foot to put the most pressure against the door as I kicked it. I thanked my P.E teacher silently for all the football and basketball practice in the past as I repeatedly kicked against the door until I could hear a loud snap as the lock came apart. I felt like roaring in triumph but managed to hold it back as I ran towards the stairs. I don't know why but I could smell Eleanor's scent. Her earthy and homely smell was coming from upstairs. I could still hear her sniffing her tears back on the phone in my hand and it started to echo its feedback from being close to the source.

Her scent was strongest on the second door to my left, on what looked like the master bedroom, and I tried opening the door but it was jammed shut.

"Eleanor? It's me, Gage"

Her sob as she opened the door was a welcome relief to me as she jumped into my arms. I could hear steps and shouts behind me which I ignored as I gathered her into my arms. I knew I had gone full Alpha physically, as my canines were completely out there now and I looked at the boys.

"If you do not get out of my way, I will destroy you all. Now.fuck.off" I knew my pheromones were surrounding me and Eleanor was whimpering into my neck. I tightened my hold on her and although my control was close to snapping, I waited for the boys to understand exactly how much peril they were in. Dominant Alphas didn't get their reputation for nothing and these kids were just kids. Only a few years younger than me, but inexperienced and still in school. All these thoughts were going through me but my inner calm was definitely disturbed despite logic trying to get a hold.

The boys, surprisingly enough, backed down, except one. The one in front looked moderately handsome but his eyes were angry, fierce and determined. Was this the Nav that Eleanor was telling me that roped her into this? Wait, she even said she had a crush that was called Nav. She also said that he was a beta. Why would he get a g**g of Alphas here with an Omega under the pretext of a study group?

“This is my house, you cannot just take her” Nav was stubbornly standing there as the other Alphas looked like they were choking under the pheromones and they backed off and slowly retreated down the stairs. Nav turned around and shouted at them “Where are you going? We had a deal!”

One of the boys who was covering his mouth and nose with his sleeve coughed before replying “Your on your own dude, you might not be able to feel and smell his pheromones, but we do, sort your own business out”

They sped up and within seconds they had rushed out of the house. I didn't waste any time and pushed past him, he tried grabbing Eleanor’s leg and I swung her out of the way by dropping her feet to the ground and holding her into my body on the right side so that he couldn't touch her and automatically I grabbed him around the throat. I knew if I lifted him off the ground it was game over for him and I thank the heavens that I didn't give into my instincts to wipe this prick off the face of the world, because that would be too good for him. He planned to get Eleanor r***d tonight, it doesnt matter now why. All I want is for him to suffer.

I could feel a sharp prickle on my collar bone and I looked down at Eleanor biting into my shirt. I scented her fear but it was not bitter like before, it now had anxiety strewn over it like molasses.

She looked up at me and her hand that was fisted around my shirt relaxed and she patted the middle of my chest. “You have an apprenticeship to go to tomorrow, let the police handle him.” I felt something trickle down my chest and I realised that it was blood, she had bitten me enough to draw blood to get my attention and to stop me from doing something stupid. She was unbelievably courageous and downright amazing. Her head turned to Nav and I realised he was getting a funny colour and I let him go. He fell to the floor and her gasp was audible as I reached down to check his pulse. It was beating steadily.

“He’s just passed out, don't worry, he will wake in a few minutes. Used to happen to me when I took up wrestling a lot. He will be fine” As I finished my sentence she was already grabbing me to run out of the house and I let her lead the way. She was already ringing the police and I got her guardians contact details to ring her. When there are incidents with Omegas, there is a policy that all emergency services will be directed to respond within 3 minutes. In the last two years, numerous Omegas have been saved because of this and the government has made it part of the agenda to bring the birthrate up. Of course, it made it unfair when others needed the services, but Omegas were in the minority, so it's not like they take up much of the responses anyway.

“Eleanor?”

She had just got off the phone and was shaking while she tried to hold herself together. I couldn't help it, she was so vulnerable right now and I needed to help her. I took off my coat and put it around her shoulders. She didn't flinch, so I took that as a good sign to gently guide her to the passenger seat in the car. Neighbours were starting to come out of their houses and I knew that this would be jarring for a person like Eleanor. I noticed that when we were in her apartment before that her body language was guarded even though she was friendly. She seemed like a private person.

“Stay sitting here till your guardian shows up. I've rung her to come and I'll sort out the police if you want me too?”

She nodded and put her head back on the headrest. “I'm going to shut the door, you can lock it from the inside and if you want to drive the car, just press the automatic button.”

I could see a faint smile as she replied with a hoarse voice “I can't drive.”

“That's OK, I'll teach you” She nodded and sighed as she closed her eyes. I shut the door and could hear the locking system click into place, which relieved a little of the tension in my shoulders. At least I know now she's safe in my car, no one can get to her without her permission. The green lights of the police arrived as Nav was staggering out of the front door.
