Drill

Nakasimangot na naka upo lang ako sa upuan namin sa camp diner. It was just a simple, by the lake, breakfast diner. I heard that Chandler had this diner built days after he was elected president of this camp.

"Anong gusto mo?" Tanong sa'kin ni Archer habang nakatakip sa mukha niya ang menu at pumipili ito ng bibilhing pagkain.

Umingos ako. "Ewan ko," hindi ko pa natingnan ang menu. Kaya nang masama akong tiningnan ni Archer, napilitan ako kunin ang menu at pumili. Nakaka-intimidate naman talaga ng mukha niya.

"Pancakes nalang, at isang frappe." Tinangoan niya lang ako tinawag ang isang employee.

"I'll have a breakfast burger, iced tea and some wedges. She'll have 3 pancakes, a grilled cheese sandwich—" napakunot ang noo ko. Wait.. I didn't say that! "—broiled potatoes, and.." he glanced at me who's looking at him angrily. "A frappe." He smiled at the employee before the employee walked away.

"Ba't ang dami?!"

Nagkibit balikat lamang ito at may kinuha sa bag niya. "Here." Napamulagat ako nang inilapag nito ang bra kong pinunit niya kagabi sa lamesa namin. Mabilis kong hinablot iyon at napalingon sa paligid namin.

"Baliw ka ba?!" Pabulong kong sermon sa kaniya. The side of his lips just shot up, like he's trying to stop himself from laughing. "Bayaran mo 'to!" Itinapon ko ang punit kong bra sa mukha niya. Napatawa lamang ito at niligpit ulit ang bra sa bag nitong hindi ko namalayan na dala pala niya.

"I already asked Chloe to get you some at the mall. Katamad nang lumabas, ang layo." Aniya at isinandal ang likod sa sandalan ng upuan nito.

Inirapan ko lamang siya at lumingon sa kabilang dulo ng lawa. I'm supposed to be in training today! Ma iisuehan na naman ako ng mga haliparot na may gusto sa kOyAh ArCheR nila. Hay naku!

"I'm supposed to be in training. Why did you drag me here? It's not my break time yet." Reklamo ko habang hindi diretsang makatingin sa kaniya.

He whistled. "Ay english ka pala ngayon?" Sarkastikong aniya. Dumating na din ang pagkain naman at natakaw ako sa pagkaing nasa harapan ko, kaya kumain ako kaagad.

"You haven't eaten breakfast yet. It's already 9am. And what are you wearing? Did your shirts suddenly ran out fabric?" He sarcastically said while chewing on his breakfast burger. This guy and his burgers.

I consciously looked down on my outfit. I'm just wearing a rust colored sports bra that's just above my belly button. Dark gray jeans that's ripped and I also wore gear belts on my thighs. I just feel like the belts tie everything together. And of course, black combat boots.

"Ano namang problema sa suot ko?" I looked at him with unintentional puppy eyes. I have pancakes on my right cheeks as I look at him with my brows furrowed.

He stared at me for a few seconds before smiling and pinching my nose.

"Bagay sa'yo." Aniya.

Inirapan ko lamang siya at bumalik na agad sa pagkain ko. When I finished my main course. I ate my side dish, which in this case is the grilled cheese sandwich and broiled potatoes.

"Hmm.." I glanced at him when he tried to speak whilst chewing his food. "By the way..." he swallowed his food first before speaking again. I sipped on my frappe while looking at him with curiosity. "Kailan ba natin mauulit iyong kagabi? I'm kinda looking forward to anoth—"

How could he just casually say that?! Napaubo ako nang nabulunan ako sa iniinom kong frappe. He quickly gave me his handkerchief and I wiped my mouth with it. Putcha feeling ko lalabas na iyon sa ilong ko. Masakit pa naman iyon. Pero what the hell?! How could he just say that?!

"Gago ka talaga!" Tinapunan ko siya ng isang french fry sa mukha. "Hindi na mauulit iyon! Excuse me!" Mahinang boses na ani ko.

Umingos lamanh ito. "Weh?" He sat back an crossed his arms over his chest. "You sure I can't seduce you?" He said in a low voice.

Damn.. that sounded so hot.

"N-no," bakit ako nauutal? Breathe, Aries! Breathe! "No." Pagbawi ko. "I won't let you." I looked away.

"Then why are you blushing?"

Napamulagat ako at mabilis na hinawakan ang mga pisngi ko. "It's my rosacea!" I defended.

"Last time I checked, sa may nose bridge mo lang ang rosacea mo." He even pointed his nose bridge as well to mimic my rosacea.

Damn it! Ang traydor naman ng mukha ko. Kainis!

I just rolled my eyes and finished all my food. Nauna siyang natapos sa'kin, kaya tinititigan niya lang ako habang kumakain. Ang weirdo nito, hindi ko nalang pinansin. After eating, hinatid niya ako pabalik sa gear room. Natapos na pala training namin, baka aabsenan ako ng facilitator namin. Archer kasi eh!

"Pierce." Matigas ang boses na tawag ni Archer sa kapatid nang papasok na kami sa gear room. Linampasan ko lang si Pierce na parang kinakabahan ang mukha habang naglalakad palapit kay Archer.

"Kuya?" I didn't mean to, but as I was keeping my stuff in my locker. I may or may not have been eavesdropping their conversation.

"The thing I asked you to do? Is it done?" Napakunot ang noo ko. Kailan ba ako naging chismosa?!

"Uhh.. wala pa, but I'm working on it. Malapit na din iyon, kuya." And then that was it. That was all I could hear. Tamang tama din at naligpit ko na lahat ng gamit ko at akmang lalampasan na ang dalawa nang pigilan ako ni Archer.

"Saan ka pupunta?"

I weirdly looked at him. "Anong pake alam mo? Tatay ba kita?"

"Well, you did call me 'daddy' last night." He casually said which made me blush! This shameless prick!

Pigil lang ni Pierce ang ma tawa sa sinabi ng kapatid. Si Archer naman nakataas parin ang kilay sa'kin.

I sighed heavily and rolled my eyes at him. "I'm going to my next class."

"Which is?"

"Hunting 101, dadaan ako sa cabin to get my stuff."

Akmang sasamahan niya ako nang pinigilan ko siya.

"Uhh! No. Hindi ka sasama."

"Bakit?" Parang batang reklamo nito.

I looked around and saw the two girls from archery training, nag chichismis nanaman ang mga ito. Sinundan ni Archer ang paningin ko, at kinilig naman ang dalawa nang lumingon si Archer habang nagliligpit sila sa mga gamit nila.

He chuckled. Which made me face him. "Nagseselos ka ba na may ibang nagkakagusto sa'kin dito?"

Napaigik ng tawa si Pierce sa likuran nito. "Ang hangin mo talaga, kuys. Iwan ko na kayo."

Nang maka alis si Pierce I flipped my hair in frustration. "Whatever! Basta hindi ka sasama. Para kang buntot na sunod nang sunod sa'kin. Hindi naman kita boyfriend." Inirapan ko ito.

He was staring at me with a small smile plastered on his face. My brows just furrowed at him when his hand went to my neck and caress it.

"Damn, nakaka turn on pala tingnan. Dinamihan ko nalang sana." Pagusap nito sa sarili, pero narinig ko naman. Gagong 'to. The damn hickey he sucked on my neck!

"Subukan mo, kakaratehin kita diyan!" Tinulak ko palayo ang kamay nito at inayos ulit ang buhok para matago ang hickey niya.

His face suddenly lit up. "Does that mean that there'll be a next time?"

I scoffed in disbelief and I just left him standing on the door of the gear room.

Lihim akong napangiti nang sumigaw ito at hindi ko pinansin. "You are irresistible, Ms. Argente!" I bit my lower lip. "You'll be mine, wait for it!" I looked around and saw that people were curiously looking at me and Archer so I giggled and ran to my cabin immediately.

When I arrived, I saw Primrose and Grace playing fortnite on the TV. I greeted them and they greeted me back. When I went up to the loft. Skye's bed wasn't already there. Now there's just a weird space on the side of our loft where Skye's bed used to be.

I stood there and just reminisced the past. Skye. I'm sorry. I could've held your hand. I could've pulled you up before your fell. Thank you, Skye. You saved my life. I never anticipated for you to do that to me, but thank you. You're an angel in disguise. I hope you're happy right now. Wherever you are. I'll always remember you, my hero.

I didn't notice the tear that fell on my cheeks. I immediately wiped it off and chuckled.

"Damn it, Skye. Your masungit ass made me emotional."

"She does that." Napalingon ako nang makita ko si Primrose na palapit sa'kin.

She stood beside me and leaned her head on my shoulder. "Me, Grace and Skye have been very close cousins, since we were young. Losing her was like losing a piece of our hearts. Alam mo naman kaming mga dugong Montecarlo, we're always so clingy of each other, kaya we're that close." She chuckled.

"Aren't you mad at me?" My voice broke.

Kunot noong liningon niya ako. "No, why would I be? Skye chose to save you. You should be thankful. As am I. Lalagyan ko ng value ang sacrifice ng pinsan ko, which is you." She caressed my cheek. "Don't blame yourself, new bestie!" She jokingly tickled me which made me laugh.

"Guys." Napalingon kaming dalawa kay Grace na nasa hagdan. "Sorry to break the drama, but hunting 101 is in 3 minutes."

Napamulagat na nagkatinginan kami ni Primrose at nagmamadaling nagligpit ng mga kakailanganin naming school supplies for todays class. Looks like the three of us will be on the same class.

"Knowing your weapons and getting comfortable with them is a great way to be involved in our industry, especially for a beginner like the most of you..." I muted our mentor's voice as I scroll through my phone, hidden behind a book.

I was going through my social medias when a dm notification popped up on my phone.

"Tago mo nga iyang cellphone mo, susumbong kita kay miss." @theodelluna, that was the username of the guy that messaged me.

Kunot noong napalingon ako sa paligid. Classmate ko ba to ngayon? Wala naman akong ibang nakikitang nag cecellphone, masyadong focused ang mga tao sa tinuturo ni miss.

"Psst,, cctv ako." ani theodelluna again.

What the heck?! Who is this guy?! I stalked his acc, maraming followers, walang bio, he only has a moon emoji on his name tab. His photos are all black and white edited, parang photo documentary. May iba ding poetry ang caption.

A mind that's wandering

She smells like rose.

His most recent post was a black and white photo of a rose that he was holding. Wala siyang posts na may face niya. He seems like he's smart, i like smart guys.

A near death experience that I now treasure in my life, irony. Said the caption of his second to the last post. Of an arrow that was struck on the ground. Black and white din.

I noticed na gani ganina lang niya napost ang dalawang latest. Ma stalk nga—

"Ehem!" Bahagya akong napaigtad nang marining ko ang pagtikhim ng mentor namin sa harapan ko.

I awkwardly smiled and kept my phone. "What is the most common natural herb to lure out wild dogs?" Nakapameywang na tanong sakin ni miss.

"U-uhh—" napatingala kaming lahat nang makarinig kami ng malakas na ring ng bell. Like a siren.

The mentor slightly groaned and clapped her hands twice. "Another drill! Come on get yourselves ready!" I heard may drills daw in case of dangerous intruders or predators or something.

Niligpit ko ang mga gamit ko at kunot noong sumunod naman sa lahat. Nasa malaking open field kaming lahat at naghihintay ng announcement.

"Good afternoon. My apologies to everyone, false alarm." Chandler smiled softly before nodding with the mentors and we all walked back to our classes.

"Okay ba?" Natigilan ako nang marinig ko si Archer sa tagiliran ko habang naglalakad papuntang class ko.

My forehead furrowed. "Ano?"

He gave me a quick glance before the side of his lips rose up. "You're welcome. Alam ko naman na hindi mo alam ang sagot dun." I was so confused. What the hell does he mean?!

Nang makarating na kami sa may pinto dun lang siya tumigil. Akmang papasok na ako iwanan siya nang sinitsit niya ako.

"Archer Theodelle Santiaga Delluna ang full name ko. Santiaga is my middle name." Share niya lang? May pa wink pa!

"Hindi naman kita tinanong gago." Akmang tatalikuran ko na naman siya ulit nang magsalita ito.

"Eh masama naman kasing mag cellphone sa klase. Makinig ka nga." Medyo pabirong sermon niya at tinalikuran na ako.

Ilang segundong nakakunot lang ang noo ko habang tinitingnan ang papalayo nitong likod. Until... what the heck?
