Maria's Point of View
The setting sun cast long shadows across the outdoor basketball court as Family Day at the school drew to a close. The final event of the day, a friendly game of basketball organized by the PTA, had attracted a crowd of enthusiastic parents and kids.
As the teams were chosen, I stood on the sidelines with Hana and Floyd, surprised to see Fredrick and Kairo both volunteer to play. I couldn't help but feel a sense of tension between them as they took their places on opposite sides of the court.
With cheers from the crowd, the game began. It was clear that both men were competitive and not just in it for fun. As Kairo effortlessly scored the first point for his team, I couldn't help but feel proud of his athletic abilities.
