Maria's Point of View The deafening roar of the party had finally subsided, leaving behind a peaceful stillness in the house. The colorful balloons continued to drift lazily from the ceiling, while the remnants of the birthday cake sat untouched on the dining table. I let out a sigh of relief, leaning against the counter for support. The twins were finally asleep upstairs, exhausted from their day filled with excitement. I was also tired, emotionally drained from the ups and downs that had occurred throughout the day. Just as I was about to head upstairs myself, the doorbell rang. Confused, I checked the clock and saw that it was late, much too late for visitors. But when I opened the door, there stood Fredrick with a warm smile on his face and two brightly wrapped gifts in his hands.
