Maria's Point of View
Morning sunlight was filtering through the windows as I sat here in the living room nursing a cup of coffee. The twins must be upstairs playing in their room; Martha is busied about her usual rounds. It's a quiet moment, but I knew it wouldn't last long. Kairo and I had made tremendous strides towards the plan the previous night, but of course everything weighs down on our shoulders - especially the looming battle in court with Reina.
I was just finishing my coffee when the phone on the coffee table began buzzing. My thoughts were that it must be a message from Fredrick. Sure enough, there was one from him reminding me that we were to meet the lawyer this afternoon.
