I hesitated before reacting, my response masked as mere surprise. It took Ryan pulling my hand once more for me to snap out of it, causing Kairo to release his grip on me.
“Kairo, why are you pestering Maria again? Your relationship has long been over. Don't you think it's time to give her some space now?" Ryan's expression was stern as he firmly held onto my wrist.
Kairo glared at the hand intertwined with my wrist before retorting, "Stay out of this. You're not the one I need to speak to."
"I'm Maria's boyfriend! Anything concerning her involves me. You let her go long ago, so now that she's with me, don't expect her to come back to you," Ryan's voice dripped with anger.
